today was a good day, devin knew it would be. he had woken up that day, having had a good nights rest, and immediately got up to get dressed (albeit a bit slowly, as he honestly wanted to stay in bed more—but today was gonna be a good day, he told himself, so he got up). after devin had gotten dressed, he had walked downstairs and grabbed a jelly donut like he always did and took a bite out of it as he walked to his door. devin took one look outside after he opened his front door and decided that today would be a great day for gardening. so, after he quickly finished up his donut, he headed outside—not without closing and locking his door behind himself, and headed off. as devin walked along, he let his mind wander,, and he let it wander to a certain guildleader with blue hair. ritchie made devin's heart swell with love and happiness, he felt liberated around him and he could always be himse—

"can you not be mushy about that blue haired imbecile for a single moment? it's literally the most annoying thing!"

and now, devin's perfectly good day was somewhat ruined just because of eden. the brunette rolled his eyes with with a huff. an annoyed look was now on devin's face.

"can you shut up, eden? i just like thinking about him.. what's so wrong with that?"

"there's everything wrong with that! it's just annoying, i don't want to know your every little dumb thought about him! it's annoying the shit out of me!"

"okay! okay, geez,, eden don't yell at me, my thoughts aren't dumb—and language!"

when eden yelled like he did, it would make devin's head hurt. he didn't enjoy it, not one bit. after that, devin waited for a reply—but didn't get one, it made him sigh as he continued on walking to his garden.

devin now had been at his garden for a while now, watering his beautiful array of flowers. a content smile was on his face as he did so, he always enjoyed gardening. it was always something that would de-stress him when he needed it. he was so focused on gardening, that he didn't notice someone was walking up to stand beside him.

"you look pretty when you garden, you know."

when devin first heard the voice, he didn't register it as ritchie's—so, he jumped, his eyes widening as he shot up from where he was crouching. when he did that, he ended up headbutting the blue haired male in the chin,, which resulted in the both of them yelping and groaning in pain.

"OW! ow, ow, ow! ritchie— oh my gods—"

devin took a minute or two to breathe, before he whipped around to face the other, looking up at him with a concerned expression—one hand holding his head where he had headbutted the taller, and the other going towards ritchie, wanting to gently touch his chin and see if it didn't bruise too bad or anything.

"oh— ritchie, i am so so sorry! are you okay? oh my gods,,"

"ah— yeah, yeah, devin.. i'm fine, it's totally okay, i shouldn't have snuck up on you like that.. heh."

the taller chuckled awkwardly, wincing slightly as he touched his chin. it was still throbbing with pain, but ritchie didn't want devin to worry or feel guilty about it,, so he said he was okay. devin still seemed to worry though, as he now brought both of his hands up—one to gently rest on ritchie's cheek to tilt his head towards the brunette,, and the other gently touched his chin. the shorter's brow knitted in concern and worry as the blue haired male winced at the soft and gentle touch. soon, though, the sort of tense atmosphere turned into something that was light as ritchie let out a quiet laugh—making devin blink as he soon looked up to meet the other's gaze.

"what are you laughing about, ritchie? i literally headbutted you! you're clearly still in pain because of it, and—"

the mage was soon cut off, feeling lips upon his own, and he melted into the contact—letting his eyes slipped closed as he felt the butterflies all over again. devin was okay and happy and fulfilled and he loved ritchie so so much. he felt like he could cry tears of joy, in all honesty. so, when he opened his eyes—he smiled, leaning into the warm hand on his cheek. devin's cheeks were definitely reddening now.

"..you're so silly."

devin mumbled, his gaze going to the side as he giggled quietly. ritchie smiled fondly down at his lover, gently stroking his cheek with his thumb.

"and you're adorable, so we're even."

the brunette rolled his eyes, going in for another kiss and everything was good.

devin woke up.

when he woke up, he felt weird, fuzzy—even. he didn't know why he had such a weird dream. why would he dream of someone who looked so similar to his love..? he shook it off, soon feeling the body behind him stir,, feeling the breath on the back of his neck as the arm around his waist tightened, mumbles coming from the other. he smiled, bringing a hand of his own to go over the other's, relaxing into the hold.

no one can compare to his love, no one.

with that lovely thought in mind, he drifted off once more, hoping that he didn't have a weird dream like that ever again. it was strange..

it felt like a memory of some kind.
