English is not my first language so there may be some really basic grammatical errors + this is my very first fanfic.
In short, prepare for the worst.

"You sure you don't need help?"

"101% sure, almost done." Akito replied while preparing his gaming console.

"You wanna play Biped? Or maybe Cuphead?"

"Cuphead is fine for me."

"Haha, I knew you'd choose it, Toya." Akito chuckled.

While redhead was inserting the game card into the console, and his best friend was laying bored on the bed, something rumbled outside.

"Uh, so we have a thunder coming now?"

"Yup, I suppose. You scared, 'Kito?"

"Naah, I'm just saying." Akito said with arrogance, then tossed a gamepad to his friendo.

"Well, I am a bit scared, but don't tell this anybody, okay?"

Akito was glad that Toya was so open around him.

"Of course, of course." Boy chuckled.

*crash*

A bolt of lightning crashed outside.

The power went down and darkness filled the room.

"A-Akito!?"

No response.

"A... kito?" Toya said, getting more worried about his friend within every second.

The darkness sure wasn't comforting.

"Akito, please, say something!"

Toya had no idea what was going on. His best friend couldn't disappear just like that, could he?

And since Akito wasn't afraid of storms, Toya thought... maybe he could protect him...?

Suddenly, he felt a pair of shaky hands wrap around his waist.

Toya felt as Akito clung to his body. Not only his hands were shaking, but his whole body was. Toya could feel Akito's racing heartbeat and body sweating. He could even sense his quick and unstable breath on his shoulder and neck.

Could Akito have had a... panic attack?

As Toya said before, he was a bit scared of storms, but not as much as Akito, it seems. And that dumbass lied before since he couldn't let his pride down.

Everything Toya could do now was to comfort his friend. But how...?

He couldn't return the hug, because Akito approached him from back and hugged him so tight that Toya could barely move.

So Toya decided to rub his hands. To blue-haired's surprise, Akito's hands shook less now, and his breathing stabilized.

Minutes passed and electricity came back. Toya noticed it right away, unlike Akito, whose eyes remained tightly shut.

"Hey, wake up, it's over already, 'Kito." Toya ruffled his hair gently.

Akito slowly pulled off and realized what he was doing just now.

"Umm, oh, s-sorry, Toya, I..."

"You could've just told me you're scared of storms, dumbass."

"I know, I'm not scared, but, uh, you know, eh" The stress he went through made him stutter. He was also flustered as hell, which didn't help.

"You can continue hugging me if that comforts you. I don't mind that."

"No, n-nah, I can handle it on my, uh, own."

At this moment a bolt of lightning cracked outside, and Akito has stuck to his friend's body like a magnet.

Toya chuckled at the silliness of his partner. Like he couldn't just agree that he's scared. Toya's already admittied his fear of thunderstorms, so why wouldn't Akito?

As boy mentioned before, he didn't mind Akito's clinginess. In fact, he enjoyed it. The warmth of Akito's body and the feeling of his touch was very comfortable for Toya.

Supposing Akito won't pull off soon, Toya started playing Cuphead on single player.

Suddenly his phone buzzed.

Akito was half asleep now, tired of panicking, still hugging Toya.

Toya, convinced that Akito's asleep, ruffled his hair for fun and smiled.

Then Akito looked up at him.

Toya got all red and pretended like nothing happened.

"So, how we feeling, 'Kito? Storm's almost over."

"Fwephy..." redhead mumbled.

"...Excuse me?"

"Sleepy....."

"You must be, today was stressful for you... But don't worry, it's over already."

In response, Akito just shoved his face further in Toya's hoodie. He probably was too tired to be fully conscious of his actions, and so Toya enjoyed this since he knew Akito hardly acts softly and this would propably never happen again.

Of course, Toya didn't want Akito to have a panic attack again, he just wanted to cuddle with the boy he was attracted to more often.

And so they've spent the rest of the night stuck to each other, except Toya got charmed by the game so much that he kept playing it until deep night.
