"Sorry for bringing you in on such short notice, Dr. Skitz."
A huff sounded from the brunette in the meeting room. "I've grown to realize that I'm only good enough for you when you need me. So why don't we get this meeting over and done with?" He started to play with the strands of his hair as he spun a little in his chair.
"I want you to dial back the killings. You said you wanted to become a member of the BAU, so you need to dial back the killings for a while. Go dormant if you have to, but do not start again until you have completely gained their trust. Do you understand?" A distorted voice spoke over the phone laying on the table in front of the brunette.
"If I had a dollar every time you said that, we wouldn't need to be killing and stealing from the dead people now, would we?" The brunette chuckled darkly.
"Skitz-"
"Yeah, yeah. I got it, okay? No need to pound my head in over a simple order, alright?"
"This is the first time I've gotten a straight answer out of you in a while."
"This is the first time I've feared you would torture the piss out of me again like you did when I was first forced into this job."
"Excuse me?"
Another disgruntled huff. The brunette was getting irritated, and it was easily heard. "Did you call to give me orders, or did you call to harp on my ass all day? I've got a tight schedule."
"Oh you do, do you?"
"Piss off. You know I always do. I have to sort through hits and plan my next few attacks, tell the gang that they get some paid vacation time, file an application with the BAU, and spend a few months trying to gain their trust. You tell me how I have time to listen to you harp on me all day."
"I don't care. Just do as I've told you to do. I want it done and I want it done right. Otherwise, I'll take your mother's treatment options and chuck them out the window."
"Alright, fine! Jesus Christ! You don't have to remind me that my life and my mother's treatment is at stake here! Fucking hell..."
"Good. Now tell me something."
"What?" This time, he hissed out the response, gripping something in his gloved hands.
"What in the ever loving FUCK was up with that article you posted under your real name?" The distorted voice let out a low growl as it spoke.
"I told you... I'm trying to throw the FBI off my trail. Now if you'll excuse me, I have the rest of my day to take care of. Good day to you."
"Now listen here you little shit-"
Too late. The gloved hand pressed the end call button on the phone, then raised up and snapped its fingers. A man ran into the room, on his back was holstered a sniper rifle. "Yes sir!"
"Take this burner phone and destroy it, will you? Then dump it far from here." The man in the chair stood up.
"Are you done speaking with the head, sir?"
"I am indeed. Now get this phone out of my sight. Oh, and ask for the department heads to meet me in the lobby, will you? I have something important to address with them."
"Yes sir!" The sniper took the phone and left the room without a second word.
The brunette ran his fingers through his hair, slowly making his way out of the room. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit a piece of hair pinched between his gloved fingers on fire, dropping the strand to let it burn and snapping his fingers to have someone clean it up. His black dress shoes clicked methodically as he walked down the hallways, making his way to the lobby. He smiled as he saw everyone he needed where he wanted them.
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice."
The room silenced and everyone looked up towards their boss in panic and anticipation, waiting to hear what this meeting entailed.
"As you may know, the FBI is on our trail, and I have been called in by the head to discuss the plan moving forward. I am here to make an announcement that you will relay to everyone in your departments. Enjoy some vacation time, all of you. We are going dormant, folks! I have been instructed to infiltrate the BAU. I and I alone will complete this task. You will all have your vacations." The man watched as the room exploded in celebration from the department heads.
"However! I will be issuing you heavily locked phones for when I will need you again. You will receive a call from me once I have decided it is time to start the killings again. Once you receive this call, you will destroy the phones and return to work. But for now, please inform your departments to enjoy this offered time off, and please enjoy it yourself. You are all dismissed."
The man watched as the department heads all left, then sighed in relief. He was glad the meeting went without a hitch. Last time, he had to call in some people to help get rid of his favorite department head.
"Dr. Skitz?"
The man was snapped from his thoughts by a female voice. He turned to face the woman in question. "Yes, Ann?"
"Does that mean tonight's hit is called off? I know I was supposed to stay behind and take the fall for tonight's hit... but if it is, I'd like to go spend some time with my family..." Ann was shaking as she spoke.
"And is your family here?"
"Oh yes! They've all joined the team, Dr. Skitz! I would never go speak to anyone who wasn't a part of this family!"
The man nodded and smiled warmly at Ann. "Then yes, to answer your question. Tonight's hit has been called off. Let the rest of tonight's team know."
"Really? Thank you, sir!" Ann squeaked out happily, bounding away whilst giggling in joy.
"Caleb?"
"Sir?"
"Keep an eye on Ann, will you? Make sure she doesn't leave the premises."
"And what should I do if she does, sir?"
The man looked over the the slightly taller male, responding only by pulling out his gun and cocking the hammer back. "If you understand what I mean. If you have to do so, report it back to me. You will be rewarded for your cooperation."
Caleb nodded and began to leave. "Sir?"
"Hmm?"
"What happens if the BAU finds us?"
The man chuckled quietly, running his gloved fingers through his hair once more as he leaned against the banister overlooking the lobby.
"They will be saying goodbye to the smart talking Dr. Spencer Reid, and say hello to Dr. Skitz & Co."
