There's a beauty in falling down to the earth, burning as your eyes watch from the center of the flame and your life flashes before your eyes. Icarus knew this. He knew that if he got too close to the sun he would crash into the earth as a fiery meteor, yet he did it anyways.
Unlike some people think, as he fell he smiled, and he laughed, his arms spread wide open. "Daedalus look at me! I'm free!" is what I assume he yelled as he toppled. There's a beauty in falling, in it all crashing and burning. There's a beauty in crashing when you should be flying, when you should be soaring.
The sun painted everything in shades of gold, the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. Even though he had just began to truly live he realized this was how it was truly supposed to end. And maybe that's what love was. Even though you knew it was going to end one day, it was magnificent.
Love turns the world brighter, makes everything better. It makes you happy even when you should be sad, and gives you something to always look forward to. Maybe Icarus was trying to teach us that love is like that burning ball of fire in the sky. Doomed to end, and sometimes end you, but always worth it.
It probably killed the nephews uncle, Daedalus.
"If only I made the wings resistant to the heat"
"If only I could have caught him"
"If only I could have stopped him from falling"
But we can't change the past, we can only learn from it.
If only Adonis had learned from his past, maybe he wouldn't have crashed similarly to Icarus, but he hadn't.
