"Adonis!" The boy's father called
"Yes father?" Adonis called back
"Will you come get your dog? He's trying to attack the neighbors again" His father replied, obviously a little frustrated.
"I'm coming" He called back, looking in the mirror before making his way down the stair.
He wasn't much too special to look at. Adonis had a slender frame, and blonde, almost white hair. When he had been born it had been a dirty blonde, but over the years it had faded to a lighter color. Adonis had assumed it was because of the sun, though his father constantly made fun of him for it and had told him he was getting old, so his hair was turning grey.
As he made his way down the wooden stairs his eyes wandered around the house. There wasn't much to see, a few pictures here and there, but one thing was out of place. When his mother had died, his dad had taken down everything that reminded him of her, besides her favorite vase that resided in the center of their dining room table. But when Adonis looked at the table, it was gone.
The boy shook the thoughts out of his head and jogged outside to grab his dog, Arsi.
"Sorry about that," Adonis said, chuckling nervously as he held the dog by the rope collar he had made him. "I'll try not to let it happen again"
"This is the second time this week your dogs come after me, you better get him trained or something before I call authority," his 40-something year old neighbor said, glaring at Arsi.
"I know, I know, I just haven't had the time, I'm sorry sir just pleas let it slide this last time, I swear I'll make it up to you" Adonis pleaded.
"Fine. My shop needs a few extra workers, I don't think you'll mind coming in and giving me a hand tomorrow. Stop by around three and I won't say a word," The man replied, before walking down the street.
"I'll be there! Don't worry!" The boy called after him, before glaring at his dog. "Look what you got me into, Arsi. I've gotta go work for that asshole now,"
Arsi simply wagged his tail and barked at Adonis, before slipping out of the boys hold and running off to find a new neighbor to torment.
"Arsi! I swear if you get me in trouble again!" Adonis called after the dog, who was now long gone.
Sighing, he shook his head and went back into the place he called home. Adonis' neighbors name was Balor, a shoemaker in the town. And lucky for Balor, Adonis knew absolutely nothing about shoes. Sure, he had his own few pairs, but he had no idea how to make them, clean them, or properly take care of them.
Adonis' father was a blacksmith, and his mother worked with glass. And the boy, well he had no clue what he wanted to do. His father assumed he would take over the forge, but he wasn't so sure he was up to that. He knew he wanted to travel, and that was all. But it would be a long while till he could do that.
Adonis was 17, and there was a rule in his house that he had to wait till he was 20 to move out on his own. He had promised his father that after his mother died from a workplace incident, and he would keep his word, even if he didn't like it.
