The Old Couple

Once upon a time an old couple with neither children nor known kins live together in a shabby hut by the countryside. They are a very happy odd couple. One evening the husband brought some cookies back home from his daily stroll to the city. The wife exclaimed, "Oh! Those are some very delicious looking cookies". The husband grin and replied, "Yes they are, they are freshly baked". "Do give me one", the wife said. So the couple sat down to eat the cookies. Then it dawned to the husband that if they eat all of the cookies none would be left in the next morning, so he suddenly said, "Let's stop eating the cookies, we'll save the rest for tomorrow". The wife agreed, for they are very delicious cookies which she would love to have again in the next morning. "See I'll close the box now", declared the husband closing the box containing the cookies. The wife looked at him and said, "But we can still open the box", followed by a certain silence in the room, "Yes we can", replied the husband. Then they open the box and ate the remaining cookies.
