“Maybe this was a bad idea, guys. I mean, she has a new girlfriend now, this won’t go well,” Hyewon mumbled to everybody in the house. There was going to be a little surprise "Reunion party" for Hyewon and Minju since they hadn’t seen each other in years since the break up. People were scattered around the house with drinks in their hands waiting for Minju’s arrival and Hyewon’s cue to surprise her.

“No, it’s a good idea. She’ll be happy to see you. She’s being driven home from the airport right now… You should’ve seen her while she was in Busan. I’m not a geography genius, but I’m pretty sure Seoul and Busan are pretty close,” Yena explained.

“No way. I can’t trust myself alone with her, are you kidding? I’d lose it… I’m still in love with her, you know. It’s been a while but I still feel the same.” Yena sympathetically patted Hyewon’s back.

“You’ll be fine, don’t be stress!” Hyewon nodded and took a deep breath. The sound of a car engine was heard outside. Minju was home from Busan. The door slowly opened. There was a delay before Minju walked in because she was lifting her luggage behind her. Hyewon held her breath, and made her way to the door.

“Uh, erm, surprise,” Hyewon said, with a nervous smile as she helped Minju with a bag. Minju looked up and saw her. It took her a second to process what was going on. When she realized who it was, her jaw dropped and she gasped.

“Hyewon Unnie!” She yelled, jumping on to her. Guests in the house, ‘awed,’ 'whooed,’ and even clapped. Hyewon smiled so big, hugging her back with one of her bags still in her hand. After the reunion, Hyewon and Minju and her family sat down to catch up. Minju noticed that Hyewon has physically changed so much in two years.

She was more built and more paranoid and jumpy than normal. Hyewon had always worn a leather jacket since she fell in love with the movie, “The Outsiders.” So much so, she called herself Hyewon Ponyboy for years. She bought a beautiful new jacket every year. She was wearing her newest one with a white T-shirt underneath. Her shirt was tight enough on her that her breasts could be seen through it. Minju found that attractive and caught herself staring several times.

“So you’ve dated people since we broke up, huh?” Hyewon asked with her voice getting quieter than before. Minju nodded.

“Yes, you know that. But I’ve never asked if you had a girlfriend since me… So have you dated after me?” Hyewon looked down and shook her head.

“Nope. All two years we’ve been apart… Man… My heart has been hurting. The mere thought of being with somebody else felt weird, and… I don’t know, I just couldn’t find myself to do it,” she explained. Minju looked angry for no good reason.

“Well, you really should do it, since we don’t have any chance together, Unnie. You ruined that years ago when you left for Seoul. Instead of trying to make me feel sorry for you, open your eyes and realize that it’s your fault. It’s always been your fault.”

“Minju!” her mom yelled with authority. Hyewon was confused and hurt, and she just kind of turned her face the other way so nobody saw the angry and upset tears forming in her eyes. Minju looked around at everybody, realizing what she said was uncalled for and wrong, and made her way towards the door. Just as Minju was walking out the front door, she locked eyes with Hyewon. She didn’t smile, she didn’t do anything. Just sat next to Yena, watching her. Turning quickly, she closed the door behind herself.
