I'm very hesitant on posting this book, though I'm also very pleased with how well it's going so far.

I'm really just making it up as I go, as well as making sure I have all the correct information I need. I am Inuk myself and I thought that including this spiritual aspect of my culture would have given a great opportunity for one religion and one culture to intertwine.

Sedna is mentioned a fair bit in this book, and so I will give a quick explanation about her story.

She is the Goddess of the Sea, and rules all of it as well as the creatures inside of it. Her father casted her into the ocean on a trip back to home from a possible suitor for Senda, in a kyak.

Her father did this because the possible suitor turned out to be a bird and he lied about having the skills to hunt and provide for Sedna, and so Sedna's father killed the bird. When they were on the way back home, the suitor's bird friends went to avenge the bird man and Sedna's father thought this is what the birds wanted- for Sedna to drown. While Sedna was holding onto the boat, her father cut off her fingers, which created all the sea animals. But, with the cost of Sedna being casted down to the sea to rule all of the ocean and it's creatures.

I hope I explained that okay. The story differs from region to region, so there's multiple versions of it if you are to do your own research.

Also, there's no real "God" like christianity has. One that would be the father or mother of all humans, that is. There's just various different Gods, Goddesses, deities and shaman (or anatquq). They all have different powers, or abilities to rule (or scare) different things.

Anyways, heres a reference photo of Sedna

Senna, our main character should look like Sedna

Senna, our main character should look like Sedna. Not because they're both Inuit, but because, well, you'll have to read to find out.

Happy reading!
