Its my first day at this new highschool and I'm freaking out. I don't know where to go or what to do so I just stand at the entrance looking dumb and confused like usual. A girl walks up to me and asks me " hey, I'm Kelly. You new here?" I reply " y-yea I am...w-why?". She looks at me sympathetically and tells me where to go. I tell her thank you and walk off, hoping I'm going in the right direction. I am supposed to be heading to the office. Fortunately, I see a building saying office so I walk towards it and open the door. I step inside and look around, hoping someone else could help me find out where to go to let the teacher know I'm new and need a timetable, but of course no one did so I stood there waiting. Finally a lady walks up to me and asks "you must be Maddy? I'm Mrs Devlin, follow me and I'll get your timetable for you" I reply with an okay quiet enough no one would hear me but scary enough she hears me so I follow her quickly, not wanting to get lost in the process. I walk into her office in awe as I take in the prestigiousness. She goes to her desk as I stand in the doorway, waiting cautiously. She prints out a peice of paper and hands it to me and tells me that its my timetable. I look at it, shocked at how many subjects I have today but I don't show my reaction. I thank the teacher and walk out of the office quickly, making my way around groups of people till I find an empty space. I sit down and start thinking about how my day might go when a girl walks up to me and says " hey, I'm taya. You're new here, right?" I reply " yea, I'm Maddy..." I smile awkwardly at her and she smiles back kindly. I stand back up and pick up my bag. As I do, she asks me what I have first so I give her my timetable and she frowns. "Sorry, we aren't in the same classes unfortunately. I say " its okay, no one gets everything they want." I say it and I walk away, happy that I'd made a friend.
