(Session 1)Dorohein/3rd eve/17434
I was outside the library after pulling an all nighter when a messenger bird delivered me a letter. Inside it spoke of discourse in the forest of bones and invited us to use the portal provided inside. Of course this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up, i am finally going to be useful!
The portal dropped me off in findalin in front of a small inn and shop where I bought a dagger and slingshot. I decided to look for the wildlife but there wasn't much other then a small robin who seemed unreasonably devoted to me. Of course who am I to pass up an opportunity to cause mischief so I sent them to mess with someone but i guess they aren't very good at being a bird seeing as it crashed. And was a Nazi. It met an... Unfortunate death after that realization.
After that tragedy I went to the local church as that can say a lot about a village. This church worshiped Dramona, the goddess of arcana, but was nice enough. Inside was a cleric, Cerena, who Sorothil kept trying to tell me to kiss. She was nice though we didn't speak much.
I did make my way to the adventuring academy where there were four other adventurers. From what it seemed when I first looked in, the man in charge seemed done with us already. Once it seemed no one else was going to come he explained the issues going on. Apparently every adventurer in the dwarven realms got an invitation but we're the only to respond.
The corruption in the forest of bones was spreading and killing the wildlife. We were also requested to secure a trade route where it's been taken over by goblins and hobgoblins. It seems I forgot about that detail later on somehow. They allowed us to take an item from the armory, I took boots of elven kind.
Yoghsaw and wisp chatted seemingly annoying Altheau as he was pushing us to leave already though he seemed to feel sorry for wisp if the sympathetic glances he sent them meant anything. Eventually he just confronted them informing them on our need to leave and commenting on their funny odd conversation about if dirt, vines, or bark would be better to eat. Obviously it's vines.
A few hours we got ambushed by goblins and hobgoblins. You remember how I mentioned those guys earlier? Yeah, I really didn't expect them despite being warned. Thank Sorothil the first wave goblins weren't that bad but the second wave of hobgoblins... Well I'll never forget this battle that's for sure. Me and Yoghsaw teamed up to take them and keep me out of the way, give me a better spot to shoot my slingshot, and use my create undead to take on a few but they seemed to realize where it was coming from. I'll always remember the feeling of pain as I got shot and almost died. I would have died if Yoghsaw hadn't saved me using his healing spell. As always, Sorothil was no help just sarcastic or, rarely, uselessly optimistic.
I suppose I understood screech, rain, and clap more now, the fear they must of felt. They were so young too. That just motivated me to work even harder! Of course I immediately messed up by trying to take out a hobgoblin near wisp who I thought was attacking them. Turns out he was comforting them. And became their first friend in over 300 years. And he also immediately after got hit from his old teammates. Thankfully he survived! Wisp used a spell to turn him into a familiar.
