About an hour later I stepped out of the shower. While I might have felt better, I still felt like an absolute idiot. I took a breath and stepped in front of the mirror, frowning at my reflection, I began to push at my stomach, wishing it would go away just like that. But, as usual... it didn't. Sadly, that isn't how the world works.
With a huff, I turned towards the sink and finished up my shower routine... some curling cream for my hair and lotion for my skin. I towel tried the rest of the water off before pulling on a pair of blue cotton panties, and a black pair of Marvel Sweats. They were one of my absolute favorite pairs of sweats. Deceptively soft, and absolutely cute. Foregoing a bra as I didn't plan on going out... or letting anyone in for the rest of the night, I pulled on a loose-fitted green crop top. I looked myself over in the mirror one more time, giving a firm nod before I turned and walked into my living room.
It was a medium-sized room. Inside was a soft grey couch, a fluffy white blanket resting on top of it. In front of the couch sat a dark wood coffee table. On top of it, I had stacked up some of my textbooks. There was a homework assignment laid out on it as well. I also had a container of trail mix and an unopened bottle of water resting there as well. I stepped into the room and walked over to the entertainment center that sat in front of the couch. It was a decently sized entertainment center. It held a forty-inch tv, and inside were a couple of DVDs, a Blue-Ray player, and of course, my Nintendo switch. I grabbed a gaming controller and the remote to the TV before I plopped down onto the couch. Overall, the room was a nice setup. It came fully furnished which was even better. Of course, there were some of my own touches mixed in with the place. The switch, I had brought from home... I had to get my animal crossing fix somehow! I pulled the blanket from the back of the couch and curled up in it, letting out a small, contempt sigh. This was going to be a nice break. Just as the opening music started up, my phone rang.
What.... the fuck.
I stared at the annoying device as it rang, wondering who the hell was calling me, and turned back to my game. Tonight was my night. I could face the world tomorrow. In all honesty, it was probably work. I worked at a call center. I ended up requesting the week off to focus on myself but, I also knew they would call at least once in order to try and get me to work a few extra shifts. Tonight it was all about me and paying back my debt too good 'ol Tom Noo-
The phone began to ring again. I let out a small groan of frustration. I placed the controllers down and picked up the phone, reading the caller's name. I let out another groan before I answered the call.
"Hey, Allison! What's... uh.. what's up?" I answered. Allison was someone I had met a few years ago. She had helped me with plenty of my classes and because of her, I was where I am now. Without her help, I probably would've failed out a while ago. But, just as smart as she was, Allison was also a Major. Party girl. "Witch! Open this door right now. I know your in that apartment, probably sulking and.... and playing that stupid game!" That's another thing about Allison. She doesn't really cus unless she is super emotional.
As she spoke, I got up off of the couch and walked over to the door. Just as she finished speaking, I hung up the phone. I couldn't help but smile as I heard an offended scoff on the other side of the door and opened it up smiling. "Animal Crossing is not a stupid game. It... is a.. highly educational and very fun and interactive game!"
Allison looked at me like I was insane before she shook her head and side-stepped me into the apartment. "We! are going out. I don't care what you do for the rest of spring break but, I get this one night. After that..... you can play your weird game." I rolled my eyes at her and closed the door behind me. I followed her past the living room and to my room, grumbling about how this was supposed to be my night as we went.
I paused in my doorway as we entered my room and simply watched as Allion went to my closet. My room was decently sized. It held a full-size bed covered in soft white sheets. Some sage green pillows resting at the top. Along my ceiling were rows of different fairy lights. Some are brighter than others. I would adjust how much light I had, depending on my mood. My dresser was a light-colored wood. My walls held a couple of posters. One was a forest view. Another was the traditional painting of the waves. My room held a calming feeling and I absolutely loved it.
Allison popped out of my closet And I let out a grown at what she was holding. One of the few dresses that I owned was a black number. I hugged all the right places on the top and flared out a little at the waist. I will admit it was one of my favorites. However, generally, it meant we were going to a party where everyone had... well. Money. A party where not only did looks matter but, you had to either be someone or know someone in order to get in. I gave her a look and grabbed the dress. I walked back into the bathroom which, was still warm from the shower, and changed. The other nice thing about this particular dress was the fact that it had a built-in bra. I opened up one of the sink drawers and pulled out some eyeliner and mascara. With a quick few swipes, I applied the makeup and exited the bathroom, and went back into my room. Going over to my closet, I pulled on my black heels. They were four-inch heels, and the sides were patterned with lace.
I exited the closet and entered my living room to see Allison waiting there, standing with my purse in hand. She glanced up at me and let out a long whistle. "Daaamn girl! You clean up Niiice". I couldn't help but smile as she spoke and rolled my eyes. I walked over to her and grabbed my purse, giggling.
"An hour. That's all. After that, We go home." Allison gave me a knowing look before she turned on her heel and walked out. I followed after her and closed and locked my front door as we went, giving one more longing glance to my switch.
