Chapter 6: The 104th Cadet Corps

As soon as we arrived in the military compound down in Wall Rose, we had to get our size for our uniform, the cadet's jacket, had a symbol on it, I remember when I was just a recruit, a person who know not of the military. We were all lined up in the parade square, Mikasa to my right, Victor to my left. I saw as everyone was moving their head left to right to see if the instructors were around or not, some were whispering, some weren't even trying to be discreet, all I know is, I've taught Eren, Armin and Mikasa well, in making their first impressions to the instructor, the eight of us were standing in attention, and we weren't talking or looking around, though, I did move my eye around to see my surrounding. Soon after the instructors came walking in, without warning, he shouted out.

???: YOU PEOPLE ARE IN THE POSITION OF ATTENTION!!! *walks to the podium* My name is Keith Shadis, I am this compound's commander... *saw the cadets* What am I looking at right now? A huge pile of wet shits? *cadets snickering* WHAT IS SO FUNNY CADET? *walks to the cadet* ANSWER ME!

Random Cadet #1: Nothing sir!

Shadis: Name!

There the instructor goes, explaining the proper way of reply, and the way we stand. In my days in the UCSA Army, I remember that we all had to introduce ourselves in a lecture hall, it was suppose to be an ice breaking session, nothing too serious, but here, it's different and I'm glad I was prepared for this. He went around asking the names of all the cadets, when he asked the first row to turn around, I looked forward to a freckled brunette, staring back at me, of course I had my pokerface on, beside her was man shorter than me, but at where I am, I could see that he is staring straight into Mikasa, I was lying if I say it didn't make me mad for some reason. He went to Eren asked his name, then where he is from, Eren answered 'Shiganshina', it got gasps and small stares. After a few minutes, the instructor was in front me

Shadis: Name, cadet!

Y/N: *Salutes* Ca-.... Y/N L/N sir

Shadis: What was that?

Y/N: Y/N L/N SIR!

Shadis: Where are you from Y/N

Y/N: Shiganshina District

Shadis: Well another one from Wall Maria, What is your height cadet!

Y/N: 185 centimeters sir (6 foot 1 inch), and still growing!

Shadis: How old are you?

Y/N: 15 years sir!

Shadis: Report in back to me in my office when you reach 190 (6'3), in case I mistake you for a titan cadet! Is that clear?!

Y/N: Yes sir!

Shadis: How quick are your reflexes kid!

Y/N: Great si- *dodges head to the right* 

Shadis: Good at ease cadet *walks away but tries to kick Y/N's body*

Y/N: *steps forward and turn to Shadis* begging the instructor's pardon, I moved to avoid the attack sir

Shadis: Hmm... Stand back at attention cadet

Y/N: Yes sir

I went back to where I was and stood back in attention, this went on for half an hour until, when we turned around, I saw a another brunette eating a potato, my eye widens as I stare at her munching on the potato, Victor and I out of confusion turned to each other and back in front. Few minutes passed by and the instructor saw the girl, of course he screamed at her, but her replies reminded me of a certain Russian-born man standing to my right

Sasha: Sasha Braus sir! I... am eating this potato because I'm hungry.

I couldn't help myself and peaked over Shadis's shoulder and and stare directly at her eyes mouthed out 'SHUT UP!" and move back to attention.
