Cleaning Day

It was a scorching hot day with a gentle breeze with not a cloud in sight. The smell of petrichor felt refreshing to my nose.
Before me stood a vast, stone castle like no other I've ever seen before.
Commander Levi came over erupting my amusement.
He only came for one thing and that was to give me order after order, chore after chore.
"Y/n, I understand your new around here and you want to explore the place but there's no time to sit around and daydream. Now get to work and clean inside by sunset or you'll be working overtime, understood?"
"Yes captain."

I had taken my first step inside the castle. My excitement quickly faded.
What on earth is that stench?
It smells absolutely nauseating, I'd hate to think that it could of been rotten bodies.
"Ugh, is this why I was asked to clean? Just so the dwarf couldn't get his hands filthy?"
I muttered under my breath just inches away from Levi.
"Just because I walked further away from you doesn't mean I automatically become deaf you brat. And for your inconvenience I will be fighting titans with the other section commanders." He scoffed as he paced away in annoyance.
I kept silent.

Before I knew it, I was trapped in an unusual, claustrophobic and empty room.
Out of all the rooms he walked me to, he lead me to tidy a room with nothing but a singular chair and painting?
What an unusual man he is.
Time passed and I moved on from room to room which what felt like an eternity. At least I had some sort of company. Levi set off to fight titans.
Leaving me to clean with cadets I know no names of, except for a couple. Mikasa and Eren? I think was their names?

-Third person-

After a long while, y/n's comical little friend group had finally joined in with Levi's so-called "fun" after being ordered the same instructions before he left.
Sasha, Connie and Jean were casually walking down the deep depths of the hallway chatting away.
As per usual, Sasha has her face stuffed with potatoes and her mind stuck in her own world.
Completely unaware of the clean-freaks orders. With her mouth finally empty, the dull-witted girl spoke.
"So uh..what are we meant to be doing?"
"What are we doing?" Jean replied back mockingly,
"y'know if captain Levi heard you just now he would make you clean till you drop dead and he'll turn you into a human mop if he has to!"
Connie let out a small giggle,
"What horse-face was trying to say was that we are meant to clean some rooms in this castle by nightfall."
"Oh, okay!" Sasha shouted in an energised manner since she had eaten so much of her favourite food.

Despite being mindful of the instructions the trio were given, they've had done nothing but mess around by the time the sun had fallen. The triplicity made a pretty careless error for continuously rescheduling Section Commander Levi's order, knowing full well of the punishment they may face.

Poor y/n worked for hours and hours. Covered completely head to toe in dust and dirt with only a few of assistance: Eren, Armin, Mikasa and Annie.
Whilst the three comedians were unaware of the time that had passed, they had eventually bumped into the room y/n and the others spent cleaning which is what seemed like years.

-First Person-

My friends had finally come along. They darted their eyes from corner to corner of the room as if they've never seen a spotless room before.
Knowing them, I supose they might of only been in areas that look like a total pigsty.
Maybe thats why they look so astonished of my work? Where even were they all this goddamn time? What were they even doing?
"Woah y/n! You cleaned this mess?"
Sasha said still in shock.
"Yeah, no kidding. What you made out of? Magic?" Jean said as we all chuckled to ourselves. Their always so funny at the most unsuitable times. I had spoken still laughing,
"C'mon now guys its nothing suprising, your all acting as if you've never seen a clean room in a day of your life."
Abruptly, a forceful slam of the door interrupted our conversation.
It was the commander.
"I come back here from doing grimy work whilst you hooligans have done nothing at all?!" He violently pounced.
"Have you seen the place?! To think that I had faith in you worthless rats."
Levi shook his head in regret.
"Sir Levi, y/n and the others did all the dirty work. Me, Sasha and Jean were the ones doing nothing, wasting time and messing about. Captain, we deeply apologise of our reckless actions. Punish only us not them."
Connie jumped in saving me from any sort of price to pay.
"You think I don't recognise y/n's hard work? Imbeciles." The boss murmured.
"Y/n, you are permitted to leave. Go to your room and rest up while I give a stern talk to these troublemakers."

I was dismissed. "Thank you, Sir Levi." I replied as I winked back at my intimates hoping all goes well with the short-tempered man.
I did as the boss commanded and I went to bed quite early.

Soon enough it was already the next day.
