To the Sea

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

There goes my 7 am alarm once again. I woke up from the weirdest dream, me and Mikasa were doing a lot of unimaginable things...

I let out an obnoxious yawn and stretched my whole body out like a butterfly that had just come out of its cocoon, morning stretches are so relieving.
I turned to look at Mikasa who is by my side, already awake.
"Good morning Mikasa," I murmured out in a breathy voice.
"Good morning, you seem happy, did you dream about something?" She suspected.
The dream suddenly flashed in my head again but I stayed silent and shook my head 'no'.
I couldn't tell her about such a thing.
"Let's get changed, I think there's an announcement for us," I stated.
I kissed her cheek and went to my room to change.

On the way there, I bumped into Eren and a confused look was printed on his face. His eyes darted to the room I just came from and then back at me, at the room, then back at me. He let out a small "Umm" and stared deeply into my eyes as if I committed a crime. That was my cue to leave, I scurried to my room to stay away from embarrassment.
I looked very suspicious.
He shrugged his shoulders and kept walking.
I let out the biggest sigh of relief then I slowly inhaled and exhaled to keep myself from resorting to any panic.
My shaky and sweaty hands struggled to grasp onto the door handle to my room properly.

I ran to my closet and took out the uniform.
Mikasa already changed, she knocked on my door asking me if I'm ready.
Damn, she's fast.
"Just a second!" I screamed out, struggling to put on my trousers.
I opened the door and I felt a sudden tight grasp on my wrist pulling me forward.
"Hurry! we are already late to Commander Hange's announcement."
She slid her hand down my wrist, then down my palm and held my hand, escorting me outside where the announcement was.

I can already tell that a shade of pink stuck on my face as her soft skin let go of me just before a pair of eyes could lay on us.
I spotted Eren already there, examining us, so I looked away from his direction and stood next to Armin in the row of people.
However, I can't escape being questioned or judged.
"Psst, y/n." My face still pointed forward, moving just my eyes to look at the blond boy.
"Why were you and Mikasa late? You're not normally late to announceme-"
I was saved by Hange.

"Armin no speaking while I'm speaking, you know this." Giggling came from some people in the back row.
"Apologies, Commander Hange Zoë." Said Armin sorrowfully, lowering his head down and scratching the back of it in self-consciousness. Hange shook their head and continued.
"Commander Erwin has asked me to inform you, cadets, that we are going on a road trip to the sea today. So make sure you pack everything that you think may be essential for the journey, it's going to be a long ride. Make sure you're ready before 11 am."
Zoë announced.
I could hear a small squeal next to me, Armin adores the sea, he never shuts up about it. So I'm not surprised he's so over the moon. Not only Armin was excited, the whole crowd was, causing Hange to let out a half-suppressed laugh.
"I know it's exciting but calm down everyone. Go to your rooms and get packing." They ordered.

The stampede of people hurried to their rooms and began packing things such as; toiletries, food, ODM gear, extra clothing, you name it.
I go to check on Sasha and what do I see? A pile of crumbs scattered around her room from the food she was meant to pack in her bag but is now in her hungry mouth.
"Sasha, you idiot," I say, placing three of my fingers on the bridge of my nose.
"Shoot, sorry! I was really hungry and the food just looked too good. It was basically screaming at me to get eaten."
She apologised.
"When are you not hungry?" I asked sarcastically.
"Never. My stomach's never full." She pulled a quirky grin on her face.
"We have breakfast in a few minutes, couldn't you have waited until then?"
"Nope." The ravenous girl replied eagerly, still munching on her food.
