Silas exhaled, letting the white smoke pass his lips as his slender fingers grazed through his fluffy chocolate curls "Mac, I don't understand what we missed." His voice was smooth and deep, rolling off his tongue with a disappointed tone. "The whole team ran over that apartment four times and there was nothing." His blue and white fleck orbs fell onto the man beside him as he dropped his arm and rubbed the cigarette against the course building.

"We can't hold her, you know that. A two-minute phone call doesn't prove anything so the bitch walks till we get something from the coroner." Mac shrugged and finished tapping on his phone, not giving a care in the world to the conversation, because unlike Silas the job wasn't his life. He looked up, Silas easily towered his 5'2, "You should head home, or" Mac paused with a snicker "To the bar, you need to do something other than stare at paperwork and screens all day. I'll make sure all the paperwork gets done before I head out. Alice will get released in about an hour and when we get something we'll bring her back."

Silas rolled his eyes and turned, heading back into the station for one last conversation with his only lead. Like he'd ever do paperwork... A sigh rolled from his nostrils as they flared. Sauntering through the row of desks he pushed into his office and grabbed the folder off the dark oak desk and his coffee. A pivot of his heel and he was making his way out towards interrogation. The grey slacks held loose to his long legs and pinned with a black belt and a tucked-in slate button-up. With a soft roll of his broad shoulders and a deep inhale, he pushed the slab of door open with his boot.

Alice quickly looked up, her caramel hues traced his sculpted frame, clothes not hiding his toned muscles in the slightest. "C-can I go home yet?" She hesitated to speak, even though he was nothing but polite, she couldn't help but be intimidated. Her hands had been cuffed to the metal table, a glance and Silas noticed how irritated her wrists had become. "I've already told you guys everything."

"I'm sorry but not yet. I have a few more questions, wanna go back over things." His hand dropped the file, making the picture of the mutilated body slip onto the table. His eyes met hers as she refused to look over the picture. Lowering his frame down to the chair he adjusted his posture and sipped on the flat, tasteless coffee "You and Jason dated for two years?"

Alice nodded as her hazel hues teared up, her fingers moving the photo back into the folder "Yes, I moved out last week because he wasn't kind to me anymore." Her tone softened as she despised the words that passed her lips. "I got drunk and called him, he turned me down."

"You said you stayed home but you've got no one to prove that. How do I know you didn't get upset and pay him a visit? I'm not saying you.." Silas leaned over the table "He was putting his hands on you, I'd of killed him t-"

"I didn't do anything! I ate my ice cream and cried on my couch watching tv!" With the realization she had shouted at the detective, her body slumped as she laid her head in the palms of her hands, the black curls falling over her soft face. "Please, I don't have anything else to say... I didn't kill Jason, I could barely bring myself to break up with him.."

Silas let out a small sigh as he rubbed his forehead. I'm not going to get shit from anyone with this damn headache fighting everything I do. Fixing his posture, his crème-toned hand pushed off the table and into his pocket. "They'll be in to release you in a bit, don't leave the state, and when you get home take a rag and put it in the freezer for a few minutes then sit it on your wrists." Pulling the keys from his pocket, his cool fingertips grazed her skin as he removed the cuffs. "It'll help with the irritation and a hot shower will help with insomnia.." The corner of his lips pulled a smile as he looked over her face again, he noticed she hadn't been to sleep in a while because of the bags that sat so heavily under her eyes. Silas rose to his feet, took the file, and left his keys behind as he strode towards the door, swinging it open rather quickly. Within one step his legs came out from under him. Darkness enveloped his vision.
