Alexa's eyes flew open when she felt you hurriedly get out of bed before padding across the floor and into the bathroom.

You quietly closed the door behind you before turning on the late, hoping you wouldn't wake up your girlfriend, completely unaware that you already had.

She frowned as she looked at the clock on the wall and noticed that the time was a little after four am.

Despite how sleepy she was, she knew that something wasn't right, and she knew she needed to check up on you.

Getting out of bed, she kicked the blankets off of her feet before going over to the bathroom door and her heart sank when she heard what sounded like gagging.

She opened the door and rushed to your side when she realized what was happening.

She gently laced her fingers through your hair to hold it back so it wouldn't get in your face as you threw up and her other hand slipped beneath your shirt to brush across your soft skin in hopes that it would help comfort you.

"I'm sorry." You mumbled quietly, making her frown.

"Sorry? For what?"

"I didn't want to wake you."

She shook her head with a sigh and continued to rub your back.

"Don't even worry about it, sweet girl. I'm here with you, that's all that matters. Let it all out, focus on me."

Your stomach turned once again and you began to get sick yet again.

Your skin felt clammy against Alexa's fingertips and her heart sank deeper and deeper in her chest every time you'd throw up, the whimpers and groans that would fall from your kips after breaking it.

"It's okay. You're okay. I'm here." She soothed as she continued to comfort you as you continued to get sick.

It was a few more minutes of agony before your stomach began to feel better.

You flushed the toilet before closing the lid and closing your eyes as you tried to catch your breath.

"Are you okay?"

You shook your head.

"Oh, my love," she spoke sadly before pulling you into her arms.

She didn't hold you tight at all.

She kept her grip on you loose, afraid that if she held you too close or too tight that you might feel sick again, and considering that you just spent the last few minutes in complete agony, she didn't want you to have to go through that again.

"Let me feel your forehead." She whispered and you turned slowly, allowing for her to gently place her hand on your skin. "You're burning up."

"I feel awful." You groaned. "I want to go to bed."

"Okay. Let's get you to bed then."

She helped you stand up and as much as you just wanted to crawl under the covers, you knew you needed to brush your teeth first, hoping that the disgusting taste that was on your tongue would fade away if you did so.

You stopped at the sink and reached for your toothbrush before putting some toothpaste on it to brush your teeth and tongue.

Alexa kept her hand on your back, her fingers dancing along your spine ever so softly.

You took a moment to brush so the gross taste would go away and, thankfully, when you finished, it did.

You breathed out a sigh of relief and then turned to go back to bed, only for Alexa to stop you.

"I'm tired."

"I know. I just want to check your temperature." She said as she reached for the thermometer. "Put this under your tongue, baby."

You did as she said and watched the numbers climb for a moment before it beeped.

"One hundred and one." She said. "Okay, time to get you back to bed."

You slowly walked to bed with her help and she tucked you in, only for you to kick the blankets back off.

"I'm too hot."

"I think you have the flu. I should go get you some medicine."

"I don't want you to leave my side. Please, stay."

She sighed before kissing your forehead, agreeing.

"Okay. But in a little while, I'm going to the store close by that's open all night. You need medicine."

"I need you to hold m more right now."

She smiled a little and rubbed your back as you put your head on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry again for waking you. I didn't want you to see me that way."

"No, I'm happy I woke up. I want to take care of you. You know you'd do the same for me in a heartbeat."

That was true. Completely true.

"Just get some sleep. If you wake up and I'm not here, I just went to the store. I'll leave you a note when I do, just in case. But for now, get some rest. Don't worry about anything else but feeling better."

"Okay." You said as you began to fall asleep, finding comfort in her touch and her arms.

"I love you, darling."

"I love you too." You said before you fell into a peaceful slumber, hoping that you wouldn't wake up feeling any worse.
