Once upon a time there was a magical land. This land was filled with fairy tail people and creatures that lived in harmony.
Each character had a part to play in filling their destinies of their story.
Eventually those fairytales characters had children and they all attended the famed school, Ever After High.
Spring had fallen upon the land of Ever After and they were holding a festival worthy of Wonderland.
A festival that celebrated the new season of spring.
Unfortunately for one individual, she was stuck signing and grading papers.
Divina Badwolf, the sister of the feared 'Big Bad Wolf' and the teacher of advanced villainy. Also, unbeknownst to most, the adoptive mother of Raven Queen.
Known for her strict, cold and distant personality but anyone who knows her personally sees her overall loving and protective self.
Not that she needed to do any work today. Everyone was free to take the day off and enjoy the beautiful day but she felt it would be weird for her to go to the festival.
Her cold demeanour may intimidate the student and she only wanted them to enjoy the day.
Even with Raven in insistence of joining her and her friends, she still stayed.
She had offered to take other staff members' work so they wouldn't have to worry about their classes, to which they happily agreed.
The work wasn't much but it was enough to keep her occupied for the day.
She had already gone through the royal etiquette class papers and was now looking over the test papers from Science and Sorcery.
That was until she heard voices outside the door. Giggling and happy bantering echoed through the corridors. Growing louder and louder till they were just behind the door.
The door clicked then opened revealing The Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. Divina's brother and sister n law.
They were grinning to each other as they entered the room. Not even noticing Divina's presence.
"Hello." She spoke quietly but just enough to erupt a gasp from Red. They fell silent, quickly turning my direction with their widened eyes.
Her brother instinctively growled as he thought that a stranger had caught them.
But was cut short when he recognised the person.
"Oh Vina, didn't see you there." He said, rubbing his neck nervously.
"I see you two are still sneaking around school together." Divina said.
They both blushed while nervously chuckling.
"We were just grabbing my stuff before we went out, what are you still doing here anyway?"He walked to where his jacket hung while he spoke. "You should be out with the others, spending time at the spring festival."
"Eh, I didn't feel like it. The student should be enjoying their time out of school." Red gave her a sympathetic smile. "They do need their grumpy teacher scaring there with them"
"Don't say that, they don't fear you." Red tried to comfort her sister n law. But anyone who had sight could see whenever Divina entered the room people would fall silent or go as far as to just leave the room.
"Untrue, last week I went to get coffee and 2 people screamed while 3 fainted." Divina countered. Resting her pen on the desk, Divina slumped in her chair crossing her arms. A slight pout had appeared on her face.
If Divina didn't have her mature appearance, the couple would have mistaken her for a pouting child.
"Don't say that, it's just your face." Her brother proclaimed. Red slapped his shoulder, glaring at him.
"Well thanks B" Divina said sarcastically.
"What? Just smile more, you're always so serious." He said, rubbing his shoulder.
Divina raised her brow at him before smiling at him. Her bright canines flashed giving a more 'I'm going to eat you' than a friendly 'hey, how are you' smile.
"You know what, just try not to glare at them." He said. Even though she was younger he still was a bit scared of her.
"Just forget it, I'm not going out." She dismissed them going to grab her pen. Her brother however wanted her to go out and not stay cooped up in this class signing papers, so he snatched it away before she got to it.
"What're you doing B?"she questioned. The Big Badwolf went into Big brother mode, giving Divina a firm look.
"You will go out and enjoy yourself, Vina. I will not let you lock yourself away from the world." He stated. Divina began to challenge him, slowly standing from her seat. Being only slightly shorter she wasn't the least bit scared of her brother.
The older man growls, a warning for Divina to back down but she only reciprocates his threat. Their eyes began to glow a fluorescent yellow. The tension was thick, and neither sibling was willing to back down.
"Stop this nonsense!" Red's voice broke through the thick silence causing the older Badwolf head to turn. Divina smirked, cheering internally.
"Divina, if you don't want to go you are welcome to join us." Red said. Divina cringed at the thought of having a picnic with 'them'. Sitting there while she watches them flirt and eat each other's faces.
"You know on second thought, maybe the festival doesn't seem so bad." She proceeded to collect her belongings, frantically rushing to get away from the pair.
Red smirked victorious while her husband looked at her in disbelief and a bit of offence. He thought that his way would have worked but all he needed to do was invite her out on a...
picnic?
The big Bad Wolf had already collected his jacket and other items, preparing to leave with his wife standing at the door. He turned to his younger sister who had packed her things while double checking if she had forgotten anything. He smiled, walking towards Divina.
She stopped gazing upon her brother. His hand fell onto her shoulder as he spoke.
"Remember to have fun, okay?" He gave her an encouraging smile before pulling her into a hug. Unaware of how tight his hold was.
"Y-yep, will d-do." She said, struggling to find her breath. She repeatedly poked his arm to loosen his grip. Which he eventually took notice of.
"Oh, haha, sorry about that." He backed away. Divina deeply inhaled once her airway wasn't being crushed.
"Okay, I'm gonna head out now, don't stay here all day." Her brother warned before him and Red had disappeared out the door.
"Sweet Jesus" Divina sighed. Once she had her things she began to make her way to the festival.
She thought nothing but good thoughts about the day to come. Even in the corner of her mind there was a quiet voice screaming that something will go really bad. But she pushed it deeper.
I mean, what could go wrong?
