Chapter 3: Signs Of Life

I slowly sit up having spent an hour or so lettng my body dry from my short time in the water, I stretch again before looking around, used to the dull area and lifeless surroundings having been alone for longer than I can count, the only company I've had is the voices in my head, more specifically the voices of the three spirits that take residence in my mind, Secshaz'aoroes who is otherwise known as Chaos is a spirit who has been with me since I was first born, the form he takes when summoned is a dragon exactly alike to myself but with pitch black eyes and as his name implies he enjoyes causing chaos wherever he can, Esorotucul translates to Soul a human who's soul I took as he was dying to save him, I didn't want to lose him as he's always been my best friend and I couldn't bare to lose him and finally Eshaz'aderorowa otherwise known as Shadow who is more of a fragment of myself rather than a spirit though he does speak to me; Shadow takes the form of a human but has no feet as he floats very slightly above the ground on a black mist, his weaponry is my the strength I have, what strength is duplicated within his twin black katana's which hold elemental powers the same as myself.

I sigh softly before hearing Shadow's voice in my head ~I wonder if we'll ever find a way to get out of here ...~ He mumbles and I smile slightly, sighing softly and starting to walk away from the river ~In time I'll be released by the other gods and we'll be able to live among other beings once again~ I mumble in my mind to him, speaking telepathically to him as I always do since I'm unable to speak any other language other than my own; Shadow chuckles in the back of my mind ~You don't sound too confident about that~ He says, sounding somewhat amused by my lack of confidence in my own statement. I sigh softly and shake my head ~I'm not ... I can't be sure what the others will do~ I think to him, uncertain of what would eventually happen, if it happened at all. Shadow sighs ~You'll be set free eventually, they can't keep you here for what you did, I think most would have done the same thing in your situation~ He says sounding confident in his prediction but I decide to just stay silent, just wandering through the void forest, walking quietly with no destination, just walking for excersize and for something to do having little else I can do.

I've been walking around an hour now with no change in scenery, as if it's all the same, my legs are starting to hurt a little now, as I continue to walk I notice something odd, something out of the black, I'd say blue but things aren't blue here, I chuckle a little at the joke and hear Soul chuckling as well ~You're listening to my thoughts again aren't you?~ I ask Soul and he laughs ~You know I'm usually listening to your thoughts~ He replies quickly after the question and sighs softly before speaking again ~Anyway, what is that odd thing?~ He asks, seeing what I see; I walk towards the odd thing, something that's light blue, a colour I rarely see anymore, as I get closer it moves and quickly vanishes into the trees, I gasp and run after it ~Something's alive here!~ I think loudly to my spirits before speaking, my natural voice different to my telepathic voice, my natural voice soft and quiet, calm and gentle, almost alluring in some way yet clearly full of power "Estucnemnemorosin Esorotucul" I say, my voice naturally quiet, the words meaning 'Summon Soul' Almost as soon as I've spoken a black mist forms in front of me and my human friend is running beside me within the mist which vanishes and leaves him running at my side, a single black katana strapped to his side, a gift I'd given him a long time ago; Soul hops up into the trees and takes off in a slightly different direction "Pick up the pace, we can't let this thing escape, it's the first sign of life we've ever seen here" He says as he vanishes into the trees, my pace picking up as I move into a full sprint, skillfully avoiding trees and branches as I run.
