On July 5, 1975 a beautiful land off of the west coast of Africa with already 50 country's in the continent this land was never gonna be one so, the people who lived on that land had to adopt to the land with only little herbs to eat and small houses to live in but those wonderful people who lived there found a way. Now we will be going way back when the Portuguese discovered this land in 1456 this place was green and had flowers and only a little water this place was hard to manage and had devastated news because there was lots of droughts so the plants would die and there would not be water to drink so there people who lived there went days without eating or drinking so they made a lot of sacrifices to work and make money but that didn't help that much because they didn't have a full meal to occupy their stomachs so they went to place to place to find a better place to live. They worked they butt of and said "If we are gonna live we have to work" or in creole they would say " si nou pral viv nou gen nan travay" so they did and and got paid but still needed more money to live a better lifestyle but that's all they so on day the Portuguese called this land Cabo Verde that mean Green Place in Portuguese. The Cape Verdean kept the Portuguese as their slaves but we don't want to get in to that. So on July 5, 1975 got their independence they celebrated with food music traditional dances love and care. Now today every knows their history from who they are and where they came from mostly 85% Cape Verdeans are related the main age language is Creole Portuguese the main dishes there a Cauldu Pexie,Pastel,and CousCous
