"Where were you?" I heard deep voice coming from the behind.
"Just out, with a friend." I said lightly, pouring some water into a glass.
"a friend?" I turned around and sighed. He was looking directly at me with his dark eyes. They were very intimidating, but I resisted the urge to look away. The eye contact was like some kind of a battle - if I looked away, he won, and so I blinked in frustration.
"yes a friend." I smiled politely.
"alright, alright. What are your plans for tonight?"
I was glad he never insisted on continuing a subject that he knew was uncomfortable for me. He was aware of the fact that he was my friend and demanding from me an information about my private life would have made our friendship toxic and he was a kind person.
"uhh.. i don't know, probably watch something, you?" I glanced at him and he was still observing me walking around kitchen. His arm was resting on the back of the couch and his side was facing me, his head turned into my direction.
"nothing really. Can I watch it with you?" Great. I thought to myself. Usually after hanging out with someone I liked to spend the rest of the evening by myself to get some rest. I could have easily told him that I wanted to be alone, but I didn't mind him coming along with me, so if he wanted he could join, but I knew he would have said that it's okay and he totally understood, and he didn't want to ruin my evening but interrupting my plans, and that it's better to spend some time alone. So I decided not to mention any of my actual intentions and I shortly responded.
"yeah, sure, you want something to drink?" He immediately stoop up in excitement.
"yeah, I'm gonna make something to eat, what would you like?" he asked waiting desperately for my answer. He sounded so joyful and I couldn't help, but chuckled at his adorable childish behavior.
"what?" he said confused with my laugh.
"nothing. what you think about toasts?"
"sounds great." as he said that he made finger guns and pointed them at me making his way to the fridge. I watched him for a couple of seconds as he was preparing the toasts. I was smiling at him unconsciously and then he looked up at me from the kitchen counter.
"what?"
"nothing, you just look cute, like a small cook." he smiled and gave a small laugh.
"What are we watching?"
"umm, I don't know. Have you watched Friends?" I asked.
"I mean, I only watched the first season-"
"So did I! Wanna continue?"
"Sure. Oh! The toasts are ready!" he squeezed his hands in ecstasy. He put the toasts on the plate. Then he took out of the freezer a small box.
"What's that?"
"cake. I baked it, froze it and now I can eat it." he explained proudly. I laughed at his cute small grin.
"Ooo, an old cake."
"It tastes really good." he said pretending to be annoyed with my sarcasm.
"I believe you."
"Thank you?" he put cake on another plate after struggling with cutting it into a smaller pieces. I helped him out on our way to my room.
"shit, sorry i forgot to clean up." I said trying to make my bed.
"no it's cool. It's more cozy that way. I like it." he said as he looked around my room and I smiled.
We made ourselves comfortable on my bed. Our back leaning against the white wall. I put my laptop on small bed table, so it was at eye level. I played the show and we were watching it for hours. At some moments we stopped an episode so we could tell each other's theories about Ross and Rachel and other characters. Finally after five hours when they kissed we shouted "YES" in excitement.
"They really took their time." said he and I agreed. "I mean the list he made was really bad and I don't blame Rachel, but the fact that he couldn't be with the other really great girl just because she wasn't Rachel was absolutely romantic and cute." he stated and I giggled at his quick way of saying cuTe.
"i know. can you imagine being for someone Rachel. That someone couldn't be with walking perfection just because they're not you?" I spoke as I looked into the space.
"it must hurts"
"why?"
"love hurts"
"who said anything about love? besides why should love hurt. I mean shouldn't love feel nice?"
"it should, but most likely the other person doesn't like you back. so yeah love hurts"
"and how would you know?"
"I-that's not the point."
"ooo..where you hurt by love??" I mocked him and he rolled his eyes.
"shut up." I laughed and I stood up. "Louis is gonna be at 6".
"oh." Oh. Louis. I liked him a lot. He was funny and helpful, really friendly, but Harry was always a little bit tense around him. I figured he had a crush on Louis. And now he was about to move in with us and he would share room with Harry. I didn't say anything about it except that it's gonna be cool and fun. " aren't you tired?" I asked trying to forget about my thoughts.
"a bit. what's the time?" he answered slowly and I stretch my back.
"uhh, it's 1am." his wide open eyes looked at me very fast and I made a confused face.
"we've been watching this for almost six hours?!"
"yeah." I chuckled and turned around to clean up some clothes from my floor. Louis thoughts slipped into my mind again and I dropped my smile.
It was gonna be different and I was afraid I'd end up feeling desperate for their attention.
"are you alright?" I heard Harry's voice and I turned to look at him still sitting on the corner of my bed surrounded by pillows and blankets.
"yeah. I just think we should get some sleep." I said calmly and his eyes changed. Now he seemed a bit disappointed with my suggestion.
"oh yeah, of course." he sat up and we made and eye contact for a good. second. Then he dropped his gaze at the grey sheets. "can I sleep here?"
My heart skipped a beat as I heard his shy voice asking me. He looked them back at me and I thought how innocent and sleepy his glittery eyes were. I already realized that saying no would make everything awkward, but also waking up next to each others' faces wouldn't be the most comfortable either. I noticed he was nervous and was starting regretting even asking.
"yeah" I said as lightly as I could, but his face stayed tense. "of course." I added and he sighed in relief. I smile at the fact that he wanted me to be comfortable around him. I made my way to bed and we shifted ourselves. We tried to fall asleep then. We kept laying in silence. I was facing the wall and Harry was facing the room. We were laying under light grey blanket that we bought together the first day we moved in there. It was a good day.
