   Liam was not always invisible.

He was appreciated by a lot of people, but that was all thanks to his parents' wealth and not him as a person. He was different from the other high school boys. He didn't follow trends or his friends' orders. He was independent, and that was not common at Aquarine High. People there were either cool and rich with no personality or uncool and uninteresting. There was no in-between.

Liam, like a lot of the Elites, was born in Aquarine. He would frequently go on trips with his parents, exploring countries and their different cultures. His older brother, John, was what he thought would be his role model until he turned twelve. His brother, who at the time was sixteen, had always been a modest, smart boy but it seemed like adolescence had transformed him. He became aggressive and rude and did not follow rules anymore. All the hopes that his parents had set on him, started to fade away. One day, everything drastically changed. He consumed drugs and to the Tyland family, it was unimaginable. How could their sixteen-year-old son have consumed drugs? It was such a shame for the family and they had no choice but to kick their biological son out of the house. Liam's father gave his oldest son enough money to live a comfortable life and they never heard from him again.

"Dad, I would do anything to stay. I am so sorry for what I did. Please forgive me. I could hide in the basement if I had to," begged John, his eyes beginning to water.

"You messed up, John, you messed everything up. You're lucky that no one knows the truth. You're a shame to this family!" screamed his father, his face red with anger.

John still was a teenager; he had no experience in life. He had grown up in a little bubble with everything being offered to him; he had never taken any responsibility. It was a shock to him when his father announced that he had to leave by the end of the week.

Liam, as a twelve-year-old, could not do much to help his brother. He felt sorry for him and the only thing he wished for was to stay with his brother, but John had no choice but to follow his father's wishes.

As John left the room to get his suitcase, filled with only the bare minimum, his mother stared at him, trying to remember every detail of his appearance. Being married for twenty years had taught her that her husband was a stubborn man and whatever he had on his mind was what had to happen. Nobody could contradict him.

John would be gone forever. He had written to his family once but never got a response. His father had burnt the letter and had thrown it in the fireplace.

It was not a surprise when rumors began to spread. People thought John had died in a car accident or had been kicked out of school. Liam's parents did not know what to do so they just told everyone that their son had been accepted at the University of Harvard. After that, nobody questioned the family as Liam's brother was a talented and smart boy who was two years younger than the other students in his grade. It was logical that he would go to university but people assumed that he would take a gap year, as he was still young.
