" Yes". The sound of children playing the background repleced the intense silence. " Kurta", Chrollo spoke finally. " Do you not think my propsal as generous enough?" The air seemed to be getting thicker, more suffocating. He had to think fast. What could he have to offer Chrollo? The questioned seemed impossible to answer. Chrollo had taken everything from him, his pride, family, freinds. His leader had his entire life in the palm of his hands. Finally, the answer had come to him. " You believe that it would take me a year to gather the eyes, but I could do it in six months". Chrollo pondered the idea for a moment, eyes glancing over at Gon and Killua who were doing a horrible job of pretending to not ease drop. His eyes then lingered on Kurapika. The silence adding more tension. " This would mean that in six months your life and eyes will be taken from you if you fail to find all the pairs". Surely, it would end with his demise, but at least he would have spent his remaining time with his freinds. He would rather die young than be a murderer for the rest of his life. Or even worse property of Chrollo Lucilfer. " No", his voice clear, finality. Infuritated, Kurapika lashed, " WHAT DO YOU MEAN, NO"?! He began to get flustered and his hands shaking.

As Killua and Gon watched from a distance they began to worry. " Is he going to be okay"?, Gon nervously asked. " I'm sure he's showing that stupid spider what he is made of", Killua confidently replied hiding his unease. " Besides, this just means he is not backing down which is good, right"? They both looked at each other with anxiousness. Gon looked down to gather his emotions. " He is suffering because of us, isn't he". " Don't be ridiculous Gon, he is suffering because of that lunatic leader of his", Killua huffed. Their conversation led to more silence. " I think it's time we let him go, Killua". The white haired boy grit his teeth, " What do you mean by that Gon?", he mustered. " Are we really going to abandon him now"? They both looked at Kurapika and Chrollo in the alley. The Kurta painfully trying to hide his obvious hurt and his leader staring down, uncaring. Gon stared straight towards the ground. " We have no other choice. If he keeps coming after us, he will only expirence more suffering. Besides, he has already given Chrollo everything, we cannot ask him to sacrafice more for our sake". Gon turned his face, to look up at Killua. His eyes burning, and streaks of tears running down his face. His body trembling in misery. " Right, Killua"? Looking at his freind, he wrapped his arms around him, and with grief he said, " Yes, Gon this is the right thing to do".

His head shaking angrily," you didn't even think about it, so how can you even give me an answer"! Rage and rightousness fueled his every word. Chrollo met his eyes and barely whispered, " This would mean that if you fail, you would only live six more months before you die". Kurapika knew the gravity of his words, but a life without his friends seemed impossible. He was willing to take the risk. " Why do you care, wouldn't you like to have the last set of Kurtan eyes to complete your collection", he bitterly said. Suddenly a whisper begged, " I need more time with you". Surely that didnt come from Chrollo, it couldn't have. Kurapika's eyes wide staring at Chrollo's face that refused to look up, as if he said something he shouldn't have. " What do you mean by that"?

" BOSS", a loud shout snapped them both out their trance. It was Uvogin with his usual thundeorus personality and Nobunga with his own indifference. Realizing the danger his freinds would be in, he scanned for them but they were gone. Good. At least, they would be safe for now. " We should be leaving now", Chrollo sternly added as he walked away, leaving Kurapika feeling awkward and confused.

They began walking through the city and endless shops, until they reached an isolated neighborhood. A cluster of houses away from the rest of the city and abandoned. Each house had a different color to them, with two floors, and a fenced backyard. The houses were eerie to say the least as if they were lived in until recently. The porches had rocking chairs and some even childrens' toys. " Boss, as you ordered the bodies were hidden effectivly and the hideout is cleared", Nobunga said with the utmost boredom. He turned to Uvogin and began to discuss their greatest fights, ranking them by order of bloodiest. Their voices rang from behind the Kurta as they became more excitied. Then, they switched to the neighboorhood that they emptied. Absolutey overwhelmed with laughter Uvogin boomed, " Yeah, and to think they were pathetic enough to beg for their families". The Kurta's entire body shivered, with guilt and anger. Who were they to decide who lives and dies? His voice trembling, " You- you killed all of them. You monster". They taunted and sneered at the Kurta. " Oh look Nobu, it would seem the Kurta has dared to question his leader's wishes". Noabunga smirked at his companion, " It would seem so" and then walked up to his leader. "What do you think, Boss"? Chrollo just stared ahead, " We are here." The house was largest one on the block. It was painted white, with three floors. Each floor had their own wooden balcony. The house was big enough to hold meetings, but for all of them to live in would prove challenging. " Are we all going to reside here"?, Kurapika nervously asked. " The only people who will be living here are you and I. We will have our sessions in here, but each member will have their own house", Chrollo replied. Uvogin and Nobunga nodded in agreement. His eyes set a blaze, " This is the reason you murdered the entire neighborhood, so that your Troupe could sleep confortably? How entitled!" Chrollo's face became serious and pensive. " Uvogin. Nobunga.", he ordered, " Leave us. There are some things I need to go over with Kurapika". As his members turned away he grabbed the Kurta by the wrist and took him inside. He slammed the door and pinned Kurapika against it. His voice went low, as he spoke into the Kurta's ear. " My members and I have had to go through worse than you could ever imagine. Never insult us again by implying that we are too spoiled. The word could only fit you." He could feel Kurapikas erratic breath against his cheek, breathing heavily and quickly as he was spoken to. " The next time you speak out of turn to defy me, there will be consequences". Chrollo breathed lightly, as his sight linger on Kurapika's earings and travel to his cheeks. His skin glistened when the sunlight hit it. It made him erethal, alomst angel-like. Even in their normal state, his crystal blue eyes were a beauty. They showed the passion and intensity from within. He unconsiously swept a finger across his cheek, feeling the smoothness of a face unblemshed with scars or injury. Kurapika felt his leader's warmth on his lips. He froze. Kurapika was staring at him, with wide eyes in surpise. Chrollo immidetaly retracted his hands and forced them down at his side. " We should begin our meeting". He swiftly turned and left deeper into the hideout.
