Ode to Writing

Can you see it in your minds eye

All the places that have ever passed by

Blurred into a single image

Becoming a whole new place

A girl sitting on her bed

Merchants sitting on the streets

They're alive but never dead

Then zoom out and see the big picture

A writer a notebook and a pencil

The pencil wipping back and forth like a sword

The pencil and paper painting new places

The writing and reading will never end

As you hear about the undead

Here's a person, there's a person

popping in and out

Then zoom in and see a giant castle

Places big and places little

Markets full of hastle

Beggers, mouths full of spittle

Then a giant wall

Protecting the city from unknown foes

Outside trees soround all

What the trees can't tell you, the wind knows

Out in a meadow

the green grass waves

and the cool breeze blows

into nice shaped caves

Farmer sitting the the fields

Whistling as he watches the sheep

Knights ride past bearing shields

Lazy people are still asleep

Nymphs will twinkle

Elves will dance

Faires will sprinkle

Dwarves will prance

People will hide

from prying eyes

but they won't slide

Out of her eyes

The eyes of the author

they know all

So don't even bother

To hide behind a wall

for they know all

Sitting in silence

a pen and a pencil

writing of violence

and other of peace
