"New Friend"

I parked my bike where Lia's pink car was parked. Everything was as usual but as I moved closer and closer to the door, I started hearing voices. At first, I thought it was one of Uncle's calls but the closer I got the clear the voices got. I heard Aunt and Lia's voices too and Lia was yelling at them. Usually, I don't eavesdrop but this is something very unusual so, I leaned towards the door to hear what's going on.

"How could you do this to her? Mom?" Lia asked probably to my Aunt.

"Lia, I-I know b-but" Aunt Amy replied.

"Stop it Lia!" I heard uncle raising his voice for the first time.

"And Dad, You? I thought you were always honest, I thought you'd never hide anything from me but you hid the thing which I wanted to know the most about, Mel!" When I heard my name,  leaned in closer but unfortunately the door wasn't locked which led to me barge into the house and the noise brought everyone's attention towards me. Aunt and Uncle were on the stairs with Lia holding a few papers. As soon as Aunt and Uncle saw me, they turned as pale as ghosts. Lia ran towards me like if she delayed, something's gonna stop her. 

"Melan! Look!" she exclaimed as she came running towards me and while she continued, someone's voice interrupted her. It was Aunt Amy's voice pleading not to say anything and again another voice interrupted. This time it was Uncle Will's. "Lia don't move or say anything further or you'll have to face consequences!" He said trying to be as intimidating as he could in this situation. While all this was going on, I was dumbfounded as I didn't even know what's happening here but still, when Uncle gave his warning, I thought she would stop but she didn't.

"Melan, you are my biological sister! Mom and Dad are your parents too!" I thought she was playing a bad prank on me until she handed me that paper which was in her hand a few seconds ago. That paper turns out to be my birth certificate and the names that were written in the column for the parents' were Mrs. Amy Alinsky and Mr. William Alinsky, Aunt and Uncle! So that means they truly are my biological parents and Lia my twin sister! 

But I couldn't say all this out as I was so shocked. I looked at the paper then at my biological parents and then at Lia who was filled with excitement and curiosity for my reaction but I couldn't do anything more than just stare. There was nothing to say when everything's before me and even though there were so many questions in my mind to ask, my mouth was still in shock. 

Watching me in this state, my biological dad spoke "We're so sorry dear, we can explain." But I couldn't listen. So, I did what I can do to escape this situation. I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door shut. No one disturbed me and I fell asleep until Lia called me for dinner. 

It was very quiet so, Lia broke it. "Did you know what Melan did today?" Lia started and as no one answered, she continued "She taught Miles and his gang a lesson, they were staring at her so she twisted Miles's finger and poured a glass of juice on Gabriella. That was so cool!" I didn't even knew their names and this shows that Lia is always spying on me. 

"What? That was so wrong of you Melantha." said dad or whatever to which I defended myself "I got uncomfortable" but that didn't stop him "So what if they stare at you? You won't die". This sentence got me and I raised my head up and glared at him to which he lowered his gaze. He knew exactly why I did that. My new mom defended me 

"Oh come on! she did the right thing."

"I know right, You should have seen her!" added Lia

"Aw! I missed it!"

"Yea!"

"Hope this is not the last time she did, I want more news like this in the future" she winked and they both chuckled while there was a silence between me and my new dad. After dinner, I went back to my room and wrote down everything in my diary that happened today. It was a crazy day that I will and should never forget.
