Dream realized he was special at a young age. Of course, his mother, Puffy, had always told him this. But every parent says that to their children to make them feel better, right? To make them happy when they get bullied, or just to reassure them that they are one of a kind.

It wasn't just the countless times he had been told he was gifted by friends or family. It was the fact that when he told people to do something, they did it. It was the fact that he started seeing strings attaching people to items. It was the fact that when he found that book, and did what it said, they came to life.

Techno, his string led to a horse he owned, Carl. Tommy, his string leads to a chest of music discs. Wilbur's string led to L'Manberg. Ghostbur to Friend, Ranboo to Tubbo, Tubbo to his nukes. Sapnap to Karl, Karl to Kinoko Kingdom.

Shortly after discovering these green strings connecting people to items or other people and kingdoms, he found another power. A single green string showing around somebody's neck and limbs. These strings he could move with a single command and a tug, and the people would obey.

Dream was in control, he will always be in control with them. Many have done his bidding, many he doesn't even know. However, Dream cannot bring himself to have hands dirty with crimes. So, he makes others do it for him.

He tells them to light buildings on fire, blow up houses, he tells them to massacre towns and kingdoms. Sometimes he feels a bit sorry for them, that they have to do these things that he makes them do. Dream thinks that sometimes he should stop, and let them live their lives.

Oh, but it's so fun to torture them in this way.

Dream finds a sort of joy in this. To watch those to have people turn against them, to do his bidding. It's almost like they're puppets, and he's the puppet master. Yes, the puppet master of all his little puppets that do his dancing, that perform for him and do as he says.

This one boy, this one boy he controls, he has no clue what he does. Ranboo is his name. One that has a terrible memory, and doesn't remember half the things he is made to do. It's particularly fun to torture this one, for when people ask him what have you done he doesn't know what to say. His husband would ask him while bandaging burn marks what happened and he would reply I don't remember. His husband would ask him why would you do this and he would respond I don't know.

Ranboo struggles with memory, probably more than he should. He's always asking himself questions, Dream can hear them when he controls him. When he tugs on the strings he can hear panicked thoughts.

Why am I doing this? Why am I here? What am I doing? Why can't I remember? I can't remember. Remember remember remember remember.

It's entertaining, sometimes Dream will laugh about it. He will pull strings harder just to hear the panic and the pain. The fear instilled in him. He will haunt him and torture him as much as he can, but he'll never be as fun as the other.

The other one, a young boy named Tommy. Oh, he gets so scared and it's such a delight to see. It makes Dream smile, seeing that look of fear on him whenever he comes. When Dream approaches this boy, Tommy wants to run. He wants to run and never look back, just stay away from the puppet master who controls him.

Dream finds that if he were to damage Tommy's precious music discs, the string stretches and breaks like a rope. That when he were to break the discs, the string that resists is cut. It falls away, cast to the universe as nothing more than another string to control them.

Dream likes to tug at this string, one connecting people to objects. One that allows people to feel attachments, that even the strongest warriors feel or the weakest of children. Children who have no sense of right and wrong have no sense of what they most care about. They'll attach a string to one item, then maybe a different item within a week or even a day.
