"Jesus! Jesus! What the hell was that?" Steve screamed as Nancy and Dannie held their guns at the door. "What the hell was that?"
"Shut up!" they all told him and he went quiet. Jonathan held the bat with one hand and the open lighter with the other. Their chests heaved as they heard the creature roar before slowly stepping down the hallway.
"What's it doing?" Nancy asked.
"I don't know," Jonathan let out as they stared at the yo-yo before the lights stopped flickering.
"Do you hear anything?"
"No," Jonathan let out as Dannie shook her head. They glanced at each other before Dannie stepped forwards, opening the door. They all stepped out to find the hallway empty.
"Where the hell did it go?" she let out. She looked back at the others and they shook their heads. They started walking through the hall and back into the living room, but the house was empty. They turned to see Steve muttering to himself, starting to get worked up.
"This is crazy. This is crazy. This is crazy. This is crazy! This is crazy! This is crazy!" He grabbed the phone off of the wall and tried to use it, but Nancy grabbed it out of his hand and threw it before he could finish dialing. "What are you doing? Are you insane?"
"It's going to come back, so you need to leave. Right now." He looked at them before running outside, the door slamming behind them.
"What do we do now?" Dannie asked before the lights started to flicker again. The three got back to back and started spinning slowly.
"Where is it?"
"Come on. Come on, you son of a bitch."
"Do you see it?" Dannie asked them.
"No. Where is it?"
"Come on," Jonathan continued to mutter. "Where are you? Come on!" The lights went off and they all stood still.
Dannie turned her head slightly as she thought she heard a noise. "Jonathan!" she yelled as she saw it standing behind him. Jonathan yelled as he was knocked down.
"Jonathan!" both girls yelled before firing their guns.
"Go to hell, you son of a bitch!"
"I'm pretty sure that's where he came from!" Dannie yelled at her as they continued to fire. The thing stood up, towering over them. It opened its mouth like a venus fly trap. "I'm out," Dannie yelled as she couldn't shoot anymore.
"Me too," Nancy panicked, both girls backing up and bracing themselves as it opened its mouth again before it was hit away. "Steve!" she yelled as Steve hit it repeatedly with the bat that Jonathan had dropped. He managed to lead it down the hallway, hitting it before his foot was impaled.
"He's in the trap!" Steve yelled as he backed up down the hallway. "He's stuck."
"Jonathan, now!" Nancy yelled as Dannie helped him up and he threw the lighter down the hall. They watched as it caught fire, screeching as it burned.
"Get back!" Jonathan yelled as he grabbed the fire extinguisher after the monster stopped screaming. They all coughed as the smoke settled and they looked down the hall to see it burned, but empty.
"Where'd it go?" Nancy asked.
"It has to be dead," Jonathan said after another cough. "It has to be." But all they saw was the bear trap with a bit of goo burning on the edges. Suddenly, the lights started to turn on like someone was walking by. They got closer, but didn't flicker this time. Steve got in front, holding up the bat. He glanced at them as the lights started to go in the other direction and the teens followed them.
"Mom?" Jonathan let out. "Is that you? Mom?" He led them outside in time to see the streetlight flicker.
"Where's it going?"
"I don't think that's the monster," Jonathan told her.
"Someone's in the Upside Down," Dannie realized.

Dannie looked through the window as Joyce and Jonathan sat by Will's side as he woke up in the hospital. She bit her lip as she watched the grateful family for a minute before Jonathan came outside.
"How's he, uh..." She sniffed. "How's he doing?"
"He's okay," he nodded.
"That's great," she said before he hugged her.
"I don't know how hard this is for you-"
"Hey, this is a happy moment. Right?" she asked as she looked up at him. "Happy, joyous moment. Will's okay and that's all that matters."
"Yeah," he breathed out before a smile came over his lips. "Um, do you want to go get the others?" She nodded, giving him a smile before walking back to the waiting room where everyone sat. They all looked up at her and she nodded.
"Will is up! Guys, come on!" Mike said excitedly before he and the other young boys ran into the room, Nancy going back with Jonathan.
"You ready?" Hopper asked her.
"I'll be out in a minute," she nodded and he kissed the top of her head before heading outside. She sighed and sat down.
"This... is crazy," Steve let out, making her laugh. "What?"
"I think that's the only thing you can say." It was his turn to laugh. "You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. You?"
She nodded. "I'm sorry you got dragged into this."
"I'm glad I did. Who knows what could have happened if I didn't."
"Hey, thanks for that. For coming back in and saving us. Thank you."
He looked at her for a second before nodding. "Of course." She smiled, hesitating before laying her head on his shoulder. "Thanks for not beating me up too bad." She burst out laughing and he couldn't help but join in.
That's all, folks! I hope you enjoyed this book! Let me know if you wants a season two and what you think should be the next step in Dannie's story!
