Amourshipping: Ash and Serena Finally Realize!

Chapter One: the Trouble Begins!

Ash and Serena: Background Information

Incase you haven't a clue, Ash and Serena are long childhood friends. They met at a summer camp when they were seven or eight years old.

Ash met Serena supposedly looking for a Pokemon or a friend in the woods, and stumbled upon her injured self. He then tied an apron around her knee, the part of her that was hurt. He helped her up and she was gracious and extremely aware of his kindness, and they hugged while Ash helped her up and held her hand as they went back to camp.

So, you can imagine Serena's response when she found him in Kalos. The alleged conversation between her and her mother seeing him on TV went a little like this:

Serena: "Mom, what film is this?"

Serena's mother: "It isn't a film; it's really happening."

Serena: "OH MY GOSH IS THAT ASH OR SOMETHING?!"

Serena's mother: "... Serena?"

I did say that the conversation went a LITTLE like that.

So, Serena went to the gym Ash was battling a gym leader in, the Kalos Gym. Serena met Bonnie, Clemont, and Alexa and watched the battle between Ash and the Kalos gym leader. Ash lost and was disgusted by his defeat, so left the gym and didn't really pay attention to anything that was happening except his loss. This meant ignoring Serena and his backpack, which she brought outside to him, him STILL not noticing her until she made a sound hinting she was there.

He gratefully took the backpack from her and they introduced themselves. Later on, Serena told Ash about them meeting as children, which of course he didn't remember, having the attention span of a Donphan (the pokemon version of an elephant) but certainly not the memory of one (an elephant has a super long-lasting memory).

When he finally did remember her, he invited her to travel with him and the rest of the gang. This was the first time he actually invited a companion to come along with him; the others rudely or shyly invited themselves.

This was what happened in the past. This fan fiction will take place in the present; but with them as 15 year olds so the romance is less awkward, Bonnie being eleven and Clemont 15 as well.

Ash and Serena: the Big Battle

Ash was training hard for his upcoming battle. He was battling left and right with other trainers, and training hard with his Pokemon that he planned to use.

"Hey Serena?" Ash was planning to ask Serena to battle with him, the third time that week. Serena won every battle so far.

"Let me guess-you want me to battle you again?" Serena sighed.

"If you don't want to, I guess that's okay..." Ash tried to sound as pitiful as possible, not to get Serena's approval but to persuade her into accepting into battle.

"Fine." Serena sighed, again. It wasn't like Serena could say no a lot to Ash. He was so cute, those big brown eyes and daring features of his.. Also his tendency to never give up..

Ash chose his Pikachu, Serena her Fennekin.

Serena wasn't a very experienced trainer. Certainly not as experienced as Ash, but she was definitely more clever and had brains on her side.

Bonnie approached Serena and tugged on her skirt. "Good luck! I'm rootin' for ya!"

Serena leaned down and ruffled Bonnie's hair. "Thanks, Bonnie! I'll keep that in mind!"

Ash asked Clemont to referee, and he accepted.

"Each trainer will use one Pokemon each. Substitutions are NOT permitted! Any trainer leaving the battle field before the battle ends causes in immediate expulsion. The challenger, Serena, calls the first move. Now, are both trainers ready?"

Serena and Ash nodded confidently.

"Begin!"

"Fennekin! Use-"

Ash and Serena's battle was interrupted abruptly by..

TEAM ROCKET?!

"Oh no, them again? But we were in the middle of a battle!" Serena mumbled.

"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie began.

"Make it double!" James continued.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

Ash rolled his eyes. "Come on guys, this isn't worth it."

Bonnie playfully stuck out her tongue to Jessie and James as the gang packed up. No way were they going to deal with Team Rocket now. They felt that they deserved this, since Team Rocket had so rudely interrupted Serena and Ash's battle.

"See ya!" Serena waved at Team Rocket, grabbing her hat and running to Ash's side, taking Bonnie's hand.

"WAIT A MINUTE! Nobody interrupts our motto!" James, Jessie, and Meowth screeched in unison.

Bonnie giggled. Then Team Rocket did something totally surprising and super unpredictable. They used their own Aipom hand and stole Serena! She yelled for Ash and Fennekin returned to her Pokeball. They were both completely vulnerable, trapped in Team Rocket's faulty (yet sufficient for them) technology.

"SERENA!" Ash yelled.
