The Meeting

I stayed at my seat for i dont know how many minutes holding back my tears.

"Why am i such a loser?" I said to myself.

I already lose everything i have. What a shame.

I left the building and head home without knowing how as there's a lot of thoughts in my mind.

Weeks and months have passed.

I started accepting what's happening around me and decided to be a better person for myself.

Yes myself. Because that's what i only have.

I've decided to take my board exam since i had save enough money when i was working.

I studied accounting but doesn't have enough money to review and take an exam.

Luckily, i passed.

I applied to JXC Enterprise and they trusted me. I've work my way up all throughout the year and became a successful women in this industry.

Present

My phone rings and thats when i went back to reality.

And yes its gab. Again.

"What do you want?"

"Im gonna go to your house early. Im on my way. Be there in 30." She said.

"What? Why? Its still freaking early. can we not go? Im feeling sick." Trying my best to convince her.

"I'll see you in a bit. Bye. Loveyou!" Is what she said. What a bitch right?

"Gosh Gab you are such a B!" Then i heard her laugh before dropping the call.

I stayed in bed until i heard her come in.

"Hey maze don't tell me you are still in bed?" Heard her said that while on her way to my room.

"Can we not just go. Please?" I pleaded

"And what? you're just gonna spend the rest of your day here? And do what wait for your ex whose not gonna comeback?"

Ouch.

"Hey watch your words." I glared at her.

"Im sorry, okay? You've been like this ever since you guys broke up. Its been 6 years maze. All you do is work and sleep. You dont have a life anymore."

6 years. That long huh. do i still think of him? Yes. Do i still love him? No. But sometimes i miss the happy memories.

I guess i just miss being genuinely happy.

"Fine let's just go." Just to end our conversation.

I get up and took a quick shower.

Its almost 8 pm when we arrive at Le Grand.

And no joke there's a lot of people today.

"That's our table" she stated

"Oh i didnt know that we have a company." I told her.

"Ofcouse without boys its gonna be boring duh!"

"What? So you're saying im boring? " I jokingly said.

"Come on maze do you think i would make out with you? That's gross."

I just laugh at her statement.

We sat down and greeted everyone.

"Are you sure that this is a party right? Not a business meeting?" Samuel asked.

Everyone laugh at what he said.

"Hey" I heard the man beside me speak.

"Hey." Then i just smiled at him.

"How's your day?" He asked

"Its all good. Pretty busy."

"You're awfully silent maze. Are you okay?" He asked again.

"Yes Nathan im fine. i just want to pull Gab's hair" I stated

He laughed wholeheartedly.

I looked at him while he's laughing. If you look at him he's very masculine and manly yet cute at the same time. His name is Nathan Spence Miller. My suitor.

"Let me guess. She forced you again."

"Ohh Yes! You're absolutely right nate."

He just laughed again.

He's been courting me for a year already. He's very consistent and very gentle when it comes to me. im actually starting to get fond him.

But i want to make sure that im all sure before i enter another commitment. I dont want to be unfair.

"You seem very happy huh" I tease him

"Ofcouse you're here. With me." He said while patting my head.

The night ends and seems like everybody enjoyed.

Then we all went home after. Nate dropped me home since gab picked me up earlier.
