Oh gosh what a mess this story is.

This book was originally a short film that we wrote back in Jester's final year of high school. It was one of those impulsive projects inspired while this humble writer was stuck walking home from school in a heavy rainstorm.

We really liked the metaphor of an umbrella as concealment. It's been a few years, so it's hard to remember where the girl x girl romance came from but it seems to work well. It had to be set in a vague mid 20th century setting though, because the strange type of homophobia seen in this book hopefully wouldn't fly nowadays (at least up here in Canada). Either way, it seems to work well enough.

The story itself needs a little work. It seemed a lot better when it was first written, but now it seems a little too short for this Jester's taste. Both the script and the book only took about two days to write both ways. Maybe we can revisit it later on. It was only published this week because we needed a break from writing everything else.

Anyhow. If you wanna read something better, go check out Jester's novel God's Gone AWOL, which updates every Wednesday. It's a fun little fiction story about angels and demons based on traditional theological lore. The story is a lot deeper than Umbrella and it's a hell of a lot longer. So if you enjoyed this and haven't already read it, please go check it out!!

Anyhow, that's that. Thanks for reading this poor writer's impulsive grade 12 drama project!!
