“Ella!” he screamed down the hallway. I ran as fast as I could, knocking into people left, right and centre, earning many glares and grumbles from fellow students as I ran by. “Eleanor Mai Vieira you better get your ass back here right now!”

Oh Shit.

Full name, he means business.

Me being, well being the stubborn person that I am, I kept running. Only making the situation a million times worse than it already was. Not that that was exactly hard to do, anything that I do would piss him off. Even if I stopped and went back to him, giving in he would still be pissed.

“I swear if you go out that door you’re a dead girl!” he shouted from about 30 feet up the hall. That would probably be the one and only advantage I have in this situation, that he is so far away. Other than the fact that I have the keys of course. Well I was already in enough trouble anyways, so there really was no point in going back now. I turned around, stuck my tongue out, ran through the doors, and jumped into my brother’s car.

Okay, so I’m not exactly legal, I took my test and everything, and I would have passed it, but one stupid stop sign that I didn’t see and I got a big fat fail. I mean I am a really good driver, in fact I am much better than my brother is. I just had to end up with the really horrible driving instructor who wouldn’t give a poor girl a break. I was super freaking nervous, and him staring intently at me from behind his huge black rimmed glasses really didn’t help the matter!

I parked the car in the drive and sat there for a second, staring at the white garage door in front of me.

There was only one problem. How the heck am I supposed to explain this to my brother exactly?!

He is going to go so crazy at me! The last time I stole his car I got grounded for month and he wouldn’t give me a ride to school for 3 months! I had to walk to school for 3 bloody months, just because I didn’t want to wait around for him to finish his football practice, so I stole his keys and drove home. I mean, it’s not like he had to walk home or anything, one of his friends did drive him home.

I suppose I will just have to deal with whatever punishment he gives me this time.

I mean, walking to school won’t be as bad this time considering all the snow and ice has now gone. And I am pretty sure I could convince someone to give me a ride, or at least walk with me.

I got out the car, making sure there was no obvious evidence that I had driven it, and clicked the button to lock it. It was completely obvious I had driven it; I had parked like a girl!

I walked up the path to the front door. Locked but of course, not like my parents were ever really home.

I sighed and stuck my key in the door. Hearing the familiar click I grabbed the handle, but the door wouldn’t door open. This was all I needed. I kicked the door, but that did nothing except make my foot hurt and my blood boil. I’m going to actually kill him!

I walked over to the garage, unlocked it and opened the huge door stepping warily inside. I hated the garage, and he knew that. In fact the garage was the worse room in the house, and I tried to convince my parents many times to get rid of it, or at least re-decorate it into something that didn’t give me nightmares. I jumped up and grabbed the cord to pull the garage door shut, and it slammed with a loud bang that echoed throughout the deserted cold room. I stomped through the garage, avoiding my brother’s crap as best possible. This room made me feel small, and ever since that day 4 years ago, I have hated the garage more than anything in the world. Even more than him! It wasn’t like it was anyone’s fault that I hated this room, the lock on the door just broke and I just happened to be the one to get stuck in there. Alone.
