'oh my gosh!' karl squealed from his spot in the doorway to clays room, completely shocked at the sight before him.
'hey jacobs,' sapnap grinned at the small brunette in the doorway, his eyes sparkling.
karls legs moved before he could think and in no time he was behind the gaming chair sapnap was seated at, his arms wrapped around his broad shoulders. 'this can't be real,' karl whispered, his eyes closed as he kept his arms around the shoulders of the tall ravenette whom placed his hands on top of karls.
'open your eyes,' sapnap spoke quietly as he tilted his head back to face his best friend.
karls eyes opened slowly to see a grinning sapnap, his face tilted nearly upside down to look at the smaller boy. 'how are you here right now?' karl trailed a finger through the locks of dark hair that barely touched nicks neck, keeping his eyes level with his best friends.
'i planned to come back a day early and surprise you and clay. plus, I missed you so much jacobs.' sapnaps voice was genuine and sweet as he traced patterns onto karls hand.
karl felt overwhelmed with all the emotions he was experiencing; the shock, excitement, love-
it was too much.
karl burst into tears, shoving his face into the crook of nicks neck as he sobbed hard. 'dont cry love,' sapnap whispered, karls tears made it hard for him to keep cool.
'im sorry I just missed you. so much. and I know that's selfish, you were visiting family, I'm sorry, I can't-'
sapnap cut the brunette off and pulled him over and onto his lap, so the two were seated in dreams chair, infront of his streaming set up. 'dont be sorry. youre not selfish at all jacobs, god, how did I ever leave you?' nicks voice was shakey as he held the tears threatening to fall.
'im so happy you're here,' karl whispered, clinging tighter onto sapnaps, now damp, hoodie.
'me too love, me too,' the ravenette stroked the loose curls at the back of karls neck and hummed softly as karl pressed his face in the spot that nicks shoulder met his neck.
karl continued crying softly and when he pulled his head up his eyes were swollen a little and his skin was flushed pink. sapnap made a sound of gentle, sweet adoration for the boy on him. 'you're the sweetest thing I think I've ever laid eyes on karl,' nicks words were full of affection as green eyes met grey.
karl shoved his face back in the crook of his neck, his lips gently grazing the sensitive skin. he muttered something into sapnaps hoodie that sent shivers down the taller boys spine.
i love you.
it's not like the two had never said it before, it was just different right now. 'karl.' nicks voice broke a little as he cleared his throat.
karl pulled his head up a little.
'im in love with you.'
'what?'
'im in love with you, karl jacobs.'
the brunette froze and sapnap didnt know if he'd made a mistake in confessing.
what if he'd ruined everything?
karl stared at him, his eyes wide and his mouth agape. 'you're kidding,' he mumbled, shaking his head.
'mmh, no, I'm not,' sapnap decided it was too late to turn back now.
'so like...you love me?' karl said, barely above a whisper.
'i always loved you jacobs,' nick replied. 'ive only been in love with you for a month or so.'
'oh my-' karl couldn't finish his sentence.
he'd waited for this day for so long. it only happened in his dreams, a sweet fantasy that made him smile as he drifted to sleep. a soft thought to keep the harsher one's at bay. but now, when sapnap was truly saying the words, karl felt sick to his stomach.
'i like you a lot,' the brunette looked at his lap. 'ive liked you for a while.'
sapnap hummed in surprise, shifting to lock eyes with the boy on top of him.
'so, what happens now?'
'now, jacobs, I ask you if you want to be my boyfriend.' sapnap grabbed his small hand in his own, his heart beating too fast, daring to feel hopeful. 'and does that mean, now I say, yes of course I'll be your boyfriend nick.' the two smiled at each other.
'so when do we kiss?' karl asked impatiently, sighing for dramatics.
sapnap let out a little chuckle before leaing in towards the boy, his lips pressing against the others. the kiss was salty with tears, and passionate with love.
it was new.
it was exciting.
when the two pulled away and sapnaps hands were rested against his thighs, karl let out a sniffle before the two collapsed into giggles. 'oh my god, I can't believe you liked me for so long!' karl said, astonished.
'yeah, karl, i was scared ok?' sapnap mumbled stuffing his face in his hands to hide the embarrassment.
'aww, now you're blushing!' karl giggled, pulling nicks hands from his face.
'am not!'
'are so!'
'uh, hey?' a voice came from the door and the two boys heads snapped to the door.
karl leapt off sapnaps lap and shoved his hands in his pockets. 'hi clay!' his voice was quiet and awkward.
'hey...' dream cocked his head to the side, eyeing sapnap. 'aernt you supposed to be in texas?'
'uh yeah, I came back a day early to surprise you and karl but um...' sapnap trailed off.
'why were you two making out in my chair?'
'WHAT-'
'we weren't-'
'its not like that dream, we just...' karl glanced at Nick, who blushed deeply.
'we weren't even kissing when you walked in,' nick tried to defend, keeping his eyes away from dream.
'oh, so you're saying you have kissed just not when I was here?' clay smirked as he leant against the door.
'I didn't even say that!' sapnap squeaked.
'whatever. I'm getting food. keep being gay,' dream left without another word as karl and sapnap stared at the door in shock.
'oh my god-' karl grinned sheepishly, his face still red from the embarrassment.
'get here so I can actually kiss you.'
