You got up from the lounge area and made a beeline towards the receptionist again, she looked over to you while her cheeks still pressed on her landline phone.
"Hi!" You gave her the fakest smile you'd ever worn as your patient was already going slim to none. It only got worse when she raised an index finger in your face, indicating she's on the phone making you sigh in exasperation, watching different people going in and out of the door that connects to the office you needed to be in.
Fingers tapping on the marbled counter, she smiled talking someone over the phone about what toppings she'll get for pizza- which only threw what's left of your patience out the window.
You coughed again, catching her attention and she wasn't even discreet about rolling her eyes and looking over to you. "Yes Ma'am."

You looked over the brass name tag pinned on her prim uniform, "You see I've been in here for hours waiting for my appointment with your boss, and it's kind of urgent because tomorrow is the demolishing of my life's work, so would you be a cupcake and fucking get me to see your fucking boss!"
