S Y N O P S I S

In a city dominated by creatures of the night, a being coined as the Warper is a legend who kneels to no other sacrilegious creed.

Hsuji Yiko has spent the last thousand years remembering the face of her lover to retrieve his soul. Cursed with the ability to warp death and feed on the blood and essence of her victims to remain in the physical world, she has nothing but the feeling that ties their bond together.

Klaus Mikaelson knows nothing of his fate. A thousand years of nothing but wrath and bloodlust had coagulated him into something most vicious. With a name that sends every soul cowering from harrowing trepidation, he walks down a path of vengeance to reclaim his stolen kingdom.

When talks of an immortal god resurface, a malignant veracity lies beneath them, and it is in their hands whether this bond would be a means to salvage, or cause their ultimate destruction.

D I S C L A I M E R

I have no affiliation or whatsoever with the original script of storyline of The Originals series. Each character and the main plot belongs to Julie Plec and the production staff. I only own my OC(s) and the plot of this fanfiction.

As this is roughly based on Chinese history, names, settings, or occurrences may have truth to them.

A/N: Originally, this book is an orpheus & eurydice x swan lake retelling. The plot is completely from scratch, and though I meant for it to be an original story, I just thought of turning it into a fanfic as a way to break my writer's block (and a guilty pleasure project).

The protagonist is roughly based on one of China's greatest military generals, Yue Fei, (Yiko is his female counterpart). And so, there will be references to history, laid out in a way that parallels with the storyline of the show.

The show itself is already dark, but this story will be quite much more so. With the comps already being tragic enough, and the original direction this plot is supposed to go to, it might deviate from the show. The story will be focusing on the psychological aspects and the inner demons the characters face, and I would like to make it a point that it does not dwell much on the fantasy or mystery aspect the show emphasized on. Furthermore, the gods mentioned may be based from Chinese mythology, but some will be purely originating from me, and have nothing to do with existing religions.
