"agreed" blake replied with a smirk as we charged at the bandits easily knocking all but their leader out

"branwen" i said confused

"i see you know my family name you must of ran into my idiot brother" a woman said she had sword in her hand

"quiet shay" she said cowing the man instantly

"if your referring to qrow yes i've ran into him i saved a girl and he appeared after" i said

"ah of course my brother hasn't told you, i'm raven" she said as she broker her swords blade before sheathing it

"come we'll talk" raven said as she led me to their camp much to shays displeasure she sat me down and explained the maidens proving her point by showing her own maiden powers

"the devils are like you and i except they are more driven by their desires, we are also a people that are near extinction because of this one of our leaders created what is called the peerage sets, these sets are chess pieces fifteen pieces eight pawns, two knights, bishops and rooks, and 1 queen this allows us to reincarnate servants who become devils, well except for mine i am unique my people doesn't know this, but when i received my pieces they turned into cards, and doubled i received two jokers which were formerly queens, four kings queens and jacks, which are rooks, bishops, and knights respectively, and an infinite number of pawns, they fulfill all of the advantages of the pieces in question for example a rook greatly enhances a persons strength, the others have similar powers their lifespan is increased but they don't become devils they remain the same race they were before being recruited" i said

"i see, you think these cards could take away her immortality" raven asked i nodded

"it is possible, and even if that wasn't the case my cards bind those i recruit to me, they cannot betray me, they are compelled to be loyal once recruited, there is only one exception which i shall not name" i said

"did they betray you" she asked

"no they can't betray me, that part is still part of the card however they also aren't compelled to serve me because they also did a ritual on me which made me loyal to them canceling out the subservience" i explained

"ah i see, and who can join your group" raven asked curiously

"anyone, i want, that's why i have infinite ace cards so i can recruit however many i want" i said

"i also gain your protection and so does my tribe" raven said
