Chapter 1
-Jade's P.O.V-
As I wiped away my painful tears, my grandmother looked straight in my eyes and put her hands on my cheeks, she gave me a look that almost said "I'm here for you, just let me in". However I didn't want her right now, nor did I want anyone right now. I
wanted to be alone.
"Come along now dear and get in the car your going to love it in Canada!" My grandmother said enthusiastically.
Funny really, an hour ago she was mourning the death of my mother and father, now suddenly she's already thinking about going back to Canada!
We all got into the car, slamming the doors. We sat there, in the silence for a few moments.
"It may seem far away from England now but as soon as you get on that plane you will drop straight off, at least me and gramps do anyway! Isn't that right gramps?" She said trying to brake the awkward silence.
"sure is, and when we get to our house we have a little surprise for you!" My gramps said as if I was five years old again.
They were expecting a reply, but I didn't feel in the mood for talking. So all I did was put my hood up and slouched down listening to loud music on my iPod.
"I know your a little upset right now but at least speak to us!" Grandmother said almost shouting.
What the hell?! How can she say I'm a "little" upset? MY MUM AND DAD HAVE JUST DIED! I thought as I turned to face the window.
"I'm upset too and I'm making the effort to speak to you"she snapped again.
"That's enough love, we've all had a rubbish day and now we're all cranky. Let her speak to you in her own time," said gramps empathising for me.
I looked out the window a bit more, thinking this will be the longest car journey of my life.
