i stepped foot into Camp Green Lake. The only thing I saw was pure sand, tents, holes, two bushes and a hammock. I shouldn't care about that, since I was (and am) Louise Walker nephew.
I walked towards Mr sirs tent, when the fresh AC hit my face. It was a huge relief, since it was really hot in Texas, plus, we were in the middle of nothing, the desert. When I looked up, there he was, the figure of Mr Sir, sitting on his desk, with tons of sunflower seeds near it. He was alway chewing on them, since he just quit smoking, I guess that's nice, he's cool with me. Maybe just because im The Wardens nephew, or because I didn't commit any crime.
My aunt never let me go near the boys in the camp, she said they were all filthy, and that they would rotten my mind. I don't know why she said that, after all, they were my age, and they were there to stop acting like monkeys around society. It's not that bad, since they are trying to get better.
I got so indulged into my thoughts that I didn't even noticed how Mr Sir was throwing a soda can at me. I grabbed it with ease, now paying attention to the situation around me. He said that today there was a new guy getting into the camp, and that I shouldn't go near him. He continued blabbering about this new dude, saying that I should stay far away from him since he stole something. I didn't care at all, i wasn't going to approach him in any way, since my aunt would KILL me if I did. But something caught my attention, Mr Sir eventually mentioned that this kids name was Stanley Yenalts.
Yes.
I know that dude.
He used to come with me to school, he was actually a good guy. Too bad everyone mocked him for being overweight. We sometimes did talk, but we weren't that close. I used to walk home with him every day, till the bus stop. He lived in a poorer area of our city, so we didn't live near. I eventually got to learn some things about him, such as his dads crazy inventions (which all failed) and so. He seemed nice, poor of him.
Some minutes later my aunt made me some signals with her hand, she was going to re-direct me to my new tent, where I would spend all the hours of the day in (since I wasn't able to share time with the boys in the camp. Only dinner). We got in there and I trowed all my stuff to the ground, with a grunt of exhaustion accompanying the action. Thankfully it wasn't that hot in there, I had a little fan in there which cooled down the whole tent. There also were some magazines left on spot, mostly about cars, and the best thing out of all was that they seemed like brand new. My aunt left, not before telling me to get ready, since we were going to have lunch in some hours.
After she left, the only thing I could do was to sigh. This summer was going to be boring, with no friends in here, and with no opportunity of meeting new boys.
I threw myself to the little bunk bed that was next to me, and extended my arm to grab one of the brand new magazines. I certainly didn't want to be in this camp, I came here because my aunt insisted to, I haven't seen her in a long time...
I turned on the fan and tried to clear my mind, eventually getting tired and tired, which only resulted on me falling asleep.
