chapter five

Akaashi stared at this 'boyfriend of mori-san' intensely. He really don't understand why but he starts comparing himself to the other boy.

The boy has fluffy hair. Akaashi must admit it looks good. His hair is kinda wavy too but it's not fluffy like hiro's. Hiro has pale skin unlike him, who got tan skin from all the volleyball trainings he did.

And hiro is an expert in games. Mashiro and hiro were talking about so many games that akaashi had never heard of in his life. The only thing he can do well is studying. Akaashi silently hoped that hiro won't be good at studying.

Kai was not with them. She went upstair to wake momo up. So all he could do was listen to the other boys blabbering about things he don't understand. That's what he thought until Hiro starts to ask about Kai.

"So How's Kai? Is she.. okay?"

Akaashi thought it was strange for hiro to ask a question like this to mashiro. He's her boyfriend after all? Don't couples talk to each other about anything and everything? But what surprised him more is mashiro's answer.

"Definitely not okay... I'm kinda worried you know."

Suddenly the atmosphere became dark.

Akaashi can't help but wonder why?

Why is mori-san not okay? Is something wrong with her?

Then Akaashi saw mashiro and hiro turned their heads to look at him.

'oh crap. I said that out loud didn't I?'

Only then mashiro remembered that there was another person.

"Ah right! I forgot to introduce you two. Hiro this is akaashi-san, our class monitor

And akaashi-san this is hiro, my ex-neighbour.."

Hiro rolled his eyes.

"My house is still near your house you idiot... it's just that I go to Kyoto for college.

And akaashi-san.. nice to meet you. It's rare to see mori make another friend except us. You must be a good person."

"Uh...yes nice to meet you too."

'What is this situation? what do I do if my love rival is being friendly with me? He even said I'm a good person. No I'm not. I mean I think I like your girlfriend? Is it ok? No right?..'

He was unsure of what to do anymore but first things first. He needs to know if something's wrong with mori-san.

"I apologize if I pushed beyond the line but is something wrong with mori-san?"

Hiro and mashiro exchanged looks as if they were having a discussion with their eyes whether to answer or not. After a few seconds of silence, hiro sighed and explained.

"Kai doesn't take care of herself that much. Since she lives alone, there's no one to remind her when to eat or sleep. And she developed this habit of locking herself up and stay on the bed to play games all day long. It's not that she's a game addict. Maybe she just wants to forget that fact that she's alone."

After the long explanation, akaashi's questions even add up rather than being reduced.

"But..." why? Why is she alone? What about her parents?

Akaashi didn't finish his sentence but hiro understood what he wanted to ask and sighed again.

"They're divorced... and don't really care much about her so she grew up with her aunt-"

"Yayy! Momo's awake guys! We can play now!"

They all look up to the stairs just to see Kai dragging the MO-has-not-opened-his-eyes-yet-MO down the stairs.

"Hey hey be careful now.. you're gonna slip and fall from the stairs."

Hiro joked and walked towards them with stretched out arms.

Akaashi thought he was going to to hug mori and faced the other way because he can't bare to see it. Only his fingertips twitched as if they were trying to stop something.

But to his surprise, mori sat down beside him a few seconds later. When he looked up with confused eyes, she just smiles at him. Akaashi looked around and found out that Hiro did hugged someone but it's not mori. He hugged and supported momo as the brunette was leaning on him comfortably.

"Eh?"

Mori and mashiro acts like they're used to this kind of thing.

'they know each other?'

After some time, hiro messed with momo's hair to woke him up.

"Momo you gotta wake up now... We're about to start our practice"

"Hmm?.... Aniki pudding..."

Akaashi watched with a tilted head as momo acts like a cat and rubbed his face on Hiro's shirt. As if he was trying to act cute while the other person is slightly shorter than him.

'aniki?... Oh they're brothers...'

Hiro gently pushed Momo and placed him on the sofa. Then he starts digging in his bag just to pull out two cups of pudding and give them to Momo.

Now normally Akaashi is the dumbest person when it comes to human behaviours, but not this time. He caught on how Hiro treats his brother affectionately, different from how he interact with Mori.

It's getting kind of confusing for him. Maybe his brain is not working properly because of the amount of information he took in today.

At least, Hiro's not a bad person. That's a relief. It looks like he was worried for nothing.

After a few minutes, the four of them starts playing games with their headphones on. They're playing pc games for now so Akaashi can watch the game on TV. It's a battlefield type game where they had to hide and try to kill the enemy, and they're playing a 2 Vs 2 match.

Hiro and Mori were a great match ,as much as he can see Momo and Mashiro were struggling. And finally Team Hiro+Mori won the game.

Akaashi watched with a slight smile as Mori and Hiro high fived while Mori was smiling with the brightest smile he has ever seen.

As he thought, Yanamori Kai is beautiful. She is ethereal. It's almost like she can light up the surrounding just by showing a smile.

He "likes" this girl. Or it might even be "love"....
