Jaerin pov
"Jaerin, get up. It's time for school." I heard my aunt yelling from the kitchen. Before I could get out of bed, the door opened and someone ran to the bed with little steps. "Rinnie up!" I heard him shout.
I smiled and picked him up from the floor onto the bed. "You are up early today Chan?" I asked him. Chan is my cousin. He is three years old. After what happened with my mom, I moved to Seoul with my aunt.
"Yes. It's my first day of school today." He said, excitedly. I wish I could become little again when I didn't have any idea of the sorrows of the world.
"Oh wow. Baby Chan is all big now, isn't he?" I say and start tickling him while he laughed trying to escape me. "Jaerin you are going to be late." Auntie yelled. I checked my phone to see it was 8 already. Oh shit. School starts at 8:30.
I quickly get ready for school and start walking. I don't live that far from school so I usually walk. But I was really late today and I didn't want detention so I run as fast as I could.

I entered my first class which was History. Fortunately, the teacher still hadn't arrived. There was only one seat left and I quickly went to sit there. I was huffing because I ran all the way here.
I looked for water bottle to drink water and calm myself down. But I noticed that I didn't have it. Ugh I was in such a hurry in the morning I forgot it. I was still huffing when someone offered me a water bottle.
I was confused as to who would do that. As far as I know, I have no friends in school. As lonely as that sounds, I like it. I would rather not be close to anyone.
After what happened with my mom, I found it hard to get close to someone. I don't even want to get close to anyone to be honest.
I looked up to see it was Lee Jeno who had offered me the bottle. Why was Jeno offering me water? But then again, I have heard he is really kind.
"Maybe you should drink the water instead of staring at me. I mean I know I am handsome but still." He said smirking.
I signed maybe I heard wrong. But I really needed the water, so I took the water bottle from him. Jeno was the most popular boy in our school. Well not only him, his whole group of friends. They are all good looking.
They are called Dream for some reason, I don't know how the name came into existence. But surprisingly they aren't playboys. Most of them also have girlfriends. As much as I remember, Jeno had a girlfriend too but I think they broke up last year.
Jeno is that typical high school jock. He used to be the football captain and he was also in the school dance club. But he quit everything last year.
Everyone was shocked and his team was really sad. I remember it being a whole big deal. No one knows why he quite, well maybe his friends do but that's all.
"Thank you." I said returning the bottle to him. "So you speak." He said as if he was amused. I guess I should be offended by that but I didn't exactly care and I wasn't even surprised. I don't even remember when I last spoke to someone in school. I just ignored what he said and payed attention to the teacher who had just entered.

The class was about to end. The teacher was done teaching and everyone was packing up when the teacher tapped her desk to get everyone's attention. "Everyone listen here. There's a new project this semester."
"I need all of you to pick any country you are interested in and present about any particular event of the said country. A detailed written report should also be given. You have a month times and you will be working in pairs. Stop cheering, you won't be able to choose your partner."
"You will be working with the person sitting next to you." She said and exited the classroom. Wait what?? In pairs?? With the one sitting next to us?? WITH JENO?? I quickly got up and ran behind the teacher.
"Miss Kim" I called out and the said person stopped walking and turned around. "Miss Kim, can I-" "Work alone? No Jaerin. You need to start making some friends and talking to people Jaerin. I am not allowing you to participate alone."
"But- Please Miss Kim." I pleaded, hoping she would agree. "No, Jaerin. You always do these projects alone even when they are supposed to be done in a group.
You are doing this with a partner. You need to learn to work with other people." She said. "I can work with other people, I just don't want it." I said. "Jaerin stop, I am not letting you do it alone this time."
"But-" "No but's. I will see you in the next class. Now go." She said and left. "Ughhhhhh" I groaned.
Why can't I work alone and why did I have to sit beside Jeno today. Why today of all days. Ugh if only I wasn't late today. I then turned to see someone I didn't wanna see.
