A mate mark is something you are born with. And at the age of four you start having dreams of your soulmate's life up until the age of seventeen where you can meet them in a dream like state or one can be up while the other is sleeping and you see them kind of like their astral projecting.
When you are the age of nineteen you can finally meet your soulmate. You may find them right away or it may take longer but at some point in your life you will find said person.

Everybody has a soulmate wether supernatural or human. The only difference is only supernatural can see your projection like form as well as visit the other when both are awake.
A soulmate is someone who you can't hurt no matter what. It didn't matter who you are or what you are you can not physically, mentally or emotionally hurt your soulmate because it isn't possible to do so.
A soulmate has the other half of your soul (literally) so when you are near them you feel a pull at you chest pulling you in their direction like and invisible string pull the two of you together.
Your mate mark is there to confirm that the person in front of you is indeed your soulmate, as nobody can mimic your mark other than your soulmate.
If you try to do a spell to glamor your mark as someone else's it won't work and something bad will happen in return.
A soulmate is someone who you are destined to be with no matter what. There for if a vampire turns his or her's humanity off they still can only feel twords their soulmate and only them resulting in them acting the exact same to them as they always have.
But you only feel twords your soulmate. No one else.
