My first lesson was gym, I don't do gym, so I just sat on the bleachers instead, it's one of the few things me and my mother agree on.
"Hey Ed's" Richie sat down next to me,he had lab goggles on his head so he was probably supposed to be in chemistry. But no, he was here instead.
"Can I help you Richie?" I crossed my arms and turned to him.
"Yes actually this weekend me, Stan and Bev are having a party, just us three. Beverly told me to find you to convince Ben and that Bill Denbrough to come as well because you have pills and Ben can get us booze. So what do you say Ed's?" He talks incredibly fast so the only words I could actually proses were:
Weekend, party, booze and pills.
Who the fuck says booze?"Sure I guess? And don't call me Ed's I've told you like ten times or something. Also I don't have pills, I take pills. I'm not a dealer Richie" he leaned back on the bleachers, his stupid Hawaiian shirt falling behind him.
"Never said you were" he held his hands up in defence "Anyways it's in this barn just outside of town, meet us at the park, where the Paul Bunion statue is"
"Ok sure, how do you even know the barn is there" he sits back up and I rest my chin on my hand.
"Went on a walk one day and came across it, pretty sure it's abandoned" I hummed in response and he got up, "I gotta get back to class, they'll be sending out a search party for me soon if I don't. Oh and by the way you've still got a little something on your neck" he winked at me, jumping down the last set of steps before walking back in the main building.
Okay, maybe I had a hickey from yesterday in the bathroom but that doesn't mean anything.
Ben and Bill agreed to meet up, I mean maybe it would be good to join our two groups together, Ben and Beverly already speak (which is a given as they're dating) and Richie is trying to befriend me so maybe it would be a good thing if we became one big group, Stan is in Bills English language class and he gets all flustered when Stan speaks to him, it's funny looking through the window when I'm supposed to be in class and I see them talking and Bill is avoiding eye contact.
On Thursday I decided to call Richie, purely to finalise the plans for tomorrow, if I had another option I wouldn't, but I didn't have another option so I had to.
"Hello, Mr. Tozier speaking, who is this?" a man answered the phone who I'm guessing is Richie's dad.
"Eddie Kaspbrak, I'm looking for Richie, I'm one of his friends" we really aren't friends, he's just someone who I speak to because he doesn't leave me alone.
He told me to wait one second then I heard the phone drop on the counter I'm guessing and then shouting.
Eventually someone picked up the phone.
Again."Hello" it was Richie "finally decided to call after two days huh?"
"Not voluntarily, I just need to know the plans for tomorrow" I said
"We meet at the statue at 6:30 then we all go to this barn and get absolutely shitfaced" he was smiling, I could tell by his voice.
I repeated what he said back to him "who's barn is it exactly?" I asked forgetting that would be a problem.
"Don't know, abandoned remember, I walk past it all the time and it never looks like there's anyone there" that's promising.
"And your parents are ok with this?" They must know given the fact Richie was yelling about it.
"You ask so many questions, yeah they are, who do you think buys my cigs"
made sense."Ok, well see you tomorrow, bye" I hung up on him and sat on the floor below the phone.
My head was spinning, I didn't know why I felt this way when I spoke to Richie now before I couldn't care less about him but now I get this weird feeling when I'm around him. I've known him like, what? four days? He's weird and obsessed with me and he smokes, I hate smoking.
