warning: chapter is just a little spicy (b4 u ask yes, yes it is "too fast" but that's the whole point )
chapter two:
"you taste like strawberries"
———Vinny has never been an outgoing person. Sure, he could hold a conversation with a stranger long enough to charm them but he never really befriended them. He always seemed to keep others at an arms length. Something must have possessed him because he decided to sit in the seat right next to the paranoid boy. The boy in question looked at him with wide eyes and tensed up. After analysing him, the boy must have decided that Vinny wasn't a threat since he relaxed.
"Hi, I'm Vincent," Vinny said shooting him a smile. "Hi, I'm... uhh.. Alberto?," he responded in broken italian with a voice that was barley audible. It was a no brainer that he was incredibly awkward. The way that he stared his name made Vinny skeptical. When the train began to move Alberto — or whatever his name was — let out a huge sigh of relief. He even muttered a small "finally," under his breath in Japanese.
"So what's your actual name?," Vinny asked in Japanese. The other boy was completely stunned that the stranger was able to speak the language fluently. Actually, Vinny learned Japanese when he was little since Lia would often curse him out in her fathers native tongue. After being around her so much, he eventually began picking up the basics and took a small language course just to spite her. This was how Vinny ended up learning several languages including German, Spanish, French, and Thai.
"I'm not exactly comfortable telling that to a stranger," he said in a small voice, "But you can call me Luca,". An intrusive thought must have snuck it's way out into existence because Vinny took off Luca's hood and grabbed his face to inspect it, "I knew it!" he exclaimed.
Luca felt nervous and a little bit scared. Some stranger that he just met was looking at him a bit too close for his personal comfort. He tried to get away from Vinny's grasp but ultimately failed. His eyebrows furrowed together as he reluctantly made forced eye contact. Luca noticed that Vincent's eyes were practically shinning. "I knew you were pretty," Vinny said in a teasing tone. To him, it was just a simple, superficial compliment. On the other hand, Luca practically melted in his seat at his words. He could feel his ears and cheeks heating up to a dark shade of crimson. In a panic, he swiftly turned his head to get away from Vinny.
He was successful in escaping Vincent's grasp. Unfortunately, his escape ended with him smacking his head against the window of the train. Luca winced in pain and held the side of his head. Instantly, Vincent's eyes were filled with concern. He kept repeatedly asking Luca if he was alright — to which the boy did not respond. After being ignored for several minutes he scooted closer to Luca and checked to see whether his head was fine or not. "It was just a compliment! You didn't have to try to knock yourself out," he said, chuckling.
Luca sent him a glare. At least he tried to. Honestly, he looked more like he more like a pouting puppy rather than being intimidating. He was trying his hardest to not back down and prove he was strong. It wasn't exactly working. "Where are you heading?," Vincent asked interrupting the silence. "Rome," Luca replied.
"What a coincidence! I am too... you wouldn't happen to need a translator, would you?"
A huff escaped Luca, "I can do just fine thank you very much. Italian isn't that hard! I have this handy thing here," he said whilst waving around the Basic Italian Phrases book. He opened it to a random page, "see? I don't need help going to the bathroom," he said in a terrible Italian accent. Vinny bursted out laughing, "You just told me you didn't need help going to the bathroom, Luca. I think you're book isn't going to be much help."
"Whatever," Luca responded, dramatically closing the book and stowing it away on his book bag, "but don't you have stuff to do in Rome? You can't just follow me around."
"Nope! I bought the ticket half an hour ago on a whim. I was actually just planning to walk around the city and I booked a hotel room to spend the night." Luca's face paled at the mention of a hotel, "crap I forgot to book a place to stay."
"Wow you're an idiot," Vinny said before bursting into laughter. Luca was about to retort with a comeback but stopped in his tracks. This was the first time he was able to take a good luck at Vincent without being too worried about his surroundings. He noticed that Vinny had beautiful eyes. In fact, they felt slightly mischievous, almost as if they were enticing. His jawline was sharp — much sharper than Luca's. His hair seemed to fall perfectly into place. It felt like some other worldly being had sculpted Vincent to perfection. And his lips, they looked soft and delicate.
"So you can check me out but I can't compliment you?"
"I wasn't checking you out!" the white-haired boy said whilst his face flushed red.
"I didn't know you were a liar."
The pair had walked around the streets of Rome for the entire afternoon after they arrived in the city. Currently they were in a store that Luca had dragged Vincent into. They were looking at the rack of clothes when the sound of the bell from the door rang throughout the shop.
A look of panic overtook the expression on Luca's face. He began to squeeze Vincent's arm and whispered to him, "be my boyfriend." Vinny's eyes widened at the statement. Sure, it was a completely strange thing to say out of nowhere but it was even stranger coming from the obviously shy and sheltered boy standing next to him. "I'm flattered and all but I don't date others and you don't quite give me the impression of wanting a one night stand."
"Please," Luca whispered, still staring at the person that entered the shop, "just pretend? I'm begging you." Vincent let out a sigh but took note of the strange way Luca was reacting to the stranger that entered the store. The man began walking closer to the two which sent the shorter boy into a panic. Vinny — being the complete idiot that he is — did the only thing he thought would drive the man away and calm Luca down: he kissed him.
"Strawberries," Vinny mumbled into the kiss, "you taste like strawberries... I never noticed how great strawberries were until just now." A breathless Luca parted from Vincent. He looked over Vinny's shoulder and watched as the man from earlier walked out of the store. He looked back at Vincent and was preparing to thank him. But when he made eye contact with the taller boy his senses began to crumble. A hint of what appeared to be lust was dancing over Vincent's face and Luca caved. He needed someone to distract him, even if it was just for a single moment.
Luca spoke in a whisper that only Vincent was able to hear, "I wouldn't mind a one night stand."
Luca's knees felt harsh against the carpeted floor. His hair was completely disheveled and his lips were swollen from the countless amount of kisses that Vinny had placed on his lips earlier when they were stumbling into the hotel room. He was currently fumbling with the belt on Vincent's waist.
"Luca, are you sure you want to continue?"
The boy in question stared up at him and nodded viciously.
"I'm positive."
