I opened my eyes finding my self in a room I'd never seen. It was big and mostly white. There was a big bed I was in and a tv across from me up on the wall. I looked out a big window to my left seeing buildings. Ok good, I'm still in NYC. I realized then that I was in a hospital. Who knew this would happen to me. After the phone call from Ashley, I had fallen and hit my forehead on the sharp edge of my desk. I softly brought my hand up to my forehead feeling it. I flinched. On my forehead was stitches. They really hurt and they felt kind of weird. "Hurts, huh?" I looked to my left realizing my dad was sitting in a chair next to me. I could tell he looked worried. His forehead was scrunched up creating worry lines and his eyes were big. He smiled sadly and took my hand, caressing it. "Yeah. How long was I asleep?" My dad smiled, "A few hours." I just sat there and thought. Why do these things happen to me? It's always too good to be true. I never have good luck. When something good happens to me there is always a catch. Like once I found $20 at school but the owner was looking for it and I had to give it to them. I can't even remember a time when something good happened to me and there was no catch. I was interrupted from my thoughts when the door opened and a nurse came into my room. She wasn't tall but she wasn't short either. She had blonde hair piled up in a messy bun and she was tan with some freckles. "Ah! The sleeping beauty is awake!" She smiled. I smiled back and pushed my self up, leaning against the back of the hospital bed. "I'm Jennifer! But you can call me Jen or Jenny. How are you feeling, you hit your head pretty bad on that table, huh?" She smiled kindly. "Hi. Um yeah. It feels sore and kinda hurts." She came over to me and handed me a cup of water. As I took the the cup from her hands I looked at her studying her. She looked like she was about 25 or 26. "Thank you." I said as I took a small sip. She walked over to a little table with a clipboard and started to jot something down. Then she turned around, smiled and left the room. "She's nice isn't she?" My dad asked. "Yeah. H-how long till we can go back home?" "Soon today! The doctor just has to give you some medications and check to see if you got a concussion." I nodded my head slowly and before I knew it, I was asleep again.

I returned home a few hours later. I had no concussion or anything so that was good. I had been laying in my bed for a while on my phone. Just then I got a text from Ashley.

Ash: Hey! I've been panicking ever since the phone call! What happened are you ok?!!!

Me: Yeah I'm fine. I had fallen after you told me what happened on the phone and I cracked my forehead open on the edge of my desk. I got stitches but I'm ok.

Ash: OMG! I'm so sorry!!!!! Is there anything I can do?!

Me: No I'm good, Ash! Lol! I'm getting kinda tired. I'll see you tmrw at school! Bye.

I set down my phone and started to close my eyes. Im glad that me and Ashley are friends! She is always there for me and helping me. Without her I wouldn't be able to survive!
As I started to close my eyes I heard the door open. I opened my eyes and saw my dad in the doorway. "Hey kiddo. How you feeling?"
"Eh!" I laughed. He smiled and walked over to me and gave me a kiss on the head. "If you need anything just call." And with that he left and I fell softly asleep.
