my arrival

Oh to be back,for the summer.
I just got back from Hogwarts,to my home.

When I open the front door,I get welcomed by my mother and my best friend.

"Amelia! Your back!!" My mom says,reaching out for a hug. "you took your time,I've been here since 2pm. it's 6 now." My best friend,Astoria,says. "oh shush it!!" I say smiling.

Astoria has been with me through everything. I mean it's not like I've had a lot go on in my life, but she has been there with me. I accept her and she accepts me.

I think it's her confidence that brought me towards her. My low confidence and her high confidence was a perfect match.

She would always roam the halls, strutting, while winking at every boy she passed. I would stand beside her with my head in a book, trying not to make eye contact with people.

"come here!!" She says,sitting up off the couch to give me a hug. "I swear,you made me so mad when you left early from Hogwarts." I grunt. "My mother got calls that I was with a boy. WHICH I WASN'T!" She yells,smiling still. "yeah, right." I say. I hear her laughing.

I grab her hand and lead her upstairs to my room.

"Okay so Pansy told me she saw a picture of you and a boy on your private story?!" I say, raising my eyebrow. "oh, shove off!! It's just Mattheo." "Mattheo? Who's that?" I ask. "He's just no-nose's brother. Draco introduced me to him." She says. "no nose? really?" I asked.

No nose isn't really a big deal around my house. We don't toss his name around, though.

"yes really!" She screams, smiling. "he's so fine. His jawline could cut something." She winks at me. "So is he the reason you got kicked out early?" I say slightly curious. "I guess." She says. "Oh my gosh. Aren't you and Draco dating?" "Yes, but it's not like I kissed Mattheo or anything...on the lips." She laughs.

We start talking about other stuff. Like the stuff she missed at school and her parents and my mom.

"So..what about you??" She asks. "What about me?" "Do you have someone?" She bites her lip. "Ew,no. Why?" "Not even a little crush?" "Why are you so interested, Astoria?" I ask. "Because Melia! Your life needs excitement! You always just hang out with me..wouldn't it be nice to get your head out the books and go find a nice guy?" Dang. She's being honest, though. I do need some excitement in my life.

"That was a bit harsh.." I think before I say my next words. "I admit. I do need excitement. Something fun. Like..a party!" I yell,surprised im saying this. "I am glad you said that because..." She pulls out her phone. "Draco is having a party at his manor tonight and we are going." Oh my gosh. She planned this out. I need to start thinking ahead of this girl.

"Um..what about my mom?" I ask,trying to get out of it. "Nick can take care of her. Come on! I already asked her if you could go anyways." She says with a wide smile.

Nick is my big brother. He's one month older than me. So not much.

"Wouldn't Nick go to the party too?" I ask. "Girl!! Your mom is fine either way. She is 30 something! She will be okay!! Now let's get you dressed." She grabs my hand and drags me over to my closet.

Im not completely okay with the idea of me going to a party. I don't do this type of stuff. Only Slytherins are invited so I know it's going to be crazy. In our common room, itself, it's insane. So what about an actual party?

"The death eaters are away..so it's a perfect time. Here try this on." Astoria says while handing me a dress. I put the dress on and go stand in front of my mirror. "Cute..but not perfect." I mutter. "You look like a little church girl-" I laugh at her comment.

She hands me a (too) short, dark green dress and a pair of high heels.

I put it on. I kinda like the feel of it. It makes me feel...good.

"now that is beautiful." Astoria says, cheering. "Yeah yeah it will work.." I say.

Astoria gets me all glammed up after this. She does my makeup and straightens my hair. She gets ready too. She wears a dark red dress that is long,but cut.

We walk downstairs all ready. "Who's driving us?" I ask. "Draco is. He's already here. He's been waiting for like twenty minutes." She says. She takes my hand and leads me outside.

We enter the car. "Took you long enough." Malfoy says. He turns his head to look at us in the back. He does this weird little whistle thing. "Y'all look fine" He winks at me, but I ignore it saying it was for Astoria.

I look over in the passenger seat. Blaise was there on his phone. Probably talking to Pansy or Luna. I'm not really sure which one he's with at the moment. Most likely Pansy.

I take my mind off and Blaise and start thinking about how many people will be at the party.  I tap tori on the shoulder. "What?" She asks. "Who's all coming?" I ask nervously, for some reason. "Uhm the whole Slytherin house and some of Draco's close friends. Why?" She says. "Uh, no reason." I, quickly, say.

Blaise looks back at me. Blaise and me have a weird type friendship. We talk full conversations one day and then the next it's a simple "hi". "Dang, Meli. You look good." Blaise says, smiling. I don't think he meant for it to come out weird, but it did. "Thanks." I say.

For the rest of the drive, we just listen to the radio. Astoria and me texting one another even though we are right beside each other. Finally, we arrive.
