I really should have seen this coming. I know better, and yet I got close anyway.

Nana Shimura, my best friend, One for All user, greatest hero ever, is dead. Well, the media says that she disappeared, but she's been going on about finding All for one for a couple weeks. I tried to stop her, tried to tell her that it was a stupid idea. She has a successor waiting for her, friends, and even a son. Heroes are stupid.

This is a fact; very hard learned, but a fact nonetheless. They all only think of the "greater good" and they never live in the moment. There's more to life than protecting others, but none of them saw it. This is the sixth user I've tried to warn. The first who almost listened to me, and probably the last. Nana was different than the others.

It's tradition now for One for all users to warn their successors about the infamous Loki. A being supposedly more powerful than All for one with "unknown" motives. They are told to avoid Loki at all costs, never to seek them out. And they certainly try to avoid ever meeting me, but I keep tabs on all OFA users.

At the moment though, I have to reach one, Toshinori Yagi. I've seen the kid. He's stubborn and determined and fits the exact mold of a stupid hero. I just have to make sure he doesn't do something stupid.

The walk to where the hero in training lived was only about 30 minutes, but it felt like hours. At some point my hair started sticking to my tear tracks, so I put it up in a bun. Finally I reached the desired address and saw that a second floor window was open. There's a small breeze, but I can clearly hear low crying coming from the other side.
Yagi's still at home; to be expected of a kid at ass-o-clock in the morning, but appreciated nonetheless. Let's just get this over with.

A young Toshinori Yagi is on his floor against the wall crying with the lights off. He was immediately notified about his mentor and predecessor's death, and he hasn't slept all night. Yagi's senses have been trained since he received a quirk, so he noticed when a presence appeared, sitting on his windowsill with a barely noticeable hitch in their breath. His tears came to a halt and he jumped to his feet, readying himself for a fight. The figure only looked at him with a sad expression. Then it spoke.

"Hey, kid. How are you holding up?"

The silvery feminine voice caught Yagi off guard. He took a hesitant step forward to get a better look at the person. They had dark curly hair and low pointed ears. Her skin was a deep shade with unnatural looking patches of paler skin. She was wearing a black t-shirt and ripped blue jeans.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Yagi was beginning to get scared. How the hell did this person know where he lived?!

The figure sighed and let out a chuckle, "Chill, kid. I can feel your anxiety from here. I am-was a friend of hers. I just wanted to see how you were."
What does one even say to that. Yagi did not recognize this girl and she looked far too young to be a friend of his master's. So, he decided to get some more information on the mystery girl.

"You never gave me a name. How do I know you're not a villain?"

"Cut the crap, kid," the girl snapped, "You know who I am even if we haven't met yet. I keep tabs on every user of One for all and they all warn each other about Loki. But, that name doesn't matter right now, so you can can me Haruka. Deal?" Haruka held out an unsteady hand to shake. Yagi stood still, very clearly confused. About what, Haruka didn't really know, but her hand was starting to get tired, so she sighed and pulled it back.

"Kid." Yagi's attention shot back to the strange girl in the window. "I need you to promise me something."

"What is it?" Yagi very slowly got out of his fighting stance and shifted to a more comfortable standing position.
