I thought of the sky, I couldn't see it now but I still felt the air against my
Dark green scales. I slowly looked across the cave and saw the pale purple scales of my roommate, Basil.I sighed, longing for some new company. We rarely spoke to each other even though it was the only thing to do; rather then wait.
Wait for a meal, wait for the human. It was all just a waiting game in the cave.
Basil sighed and looked toward me. "I wish we could break down the stone and fly with our friends again." She said unexpectedly.
I merely nodded, I was for sure not in the mood to talk.
Basil was a pretty bulky dragon before we found our ways into the cave, but Basil and I have gotten skinner over the centuries we've spent in the cave.
Or was it only a year? Time moved a lot slower when your stuck in a cave. With no one but someone who once was your friend. Basil clearly thought we still were, but being stuck with her for what felt like centuries? No, once we got the human to get us out, we would go our separate ways and NEVER speak again. I was sick of hearing a voice that sounded of a fox trying to speak dragon.
I sighed once more, this time looking at the small hole in the cave above my head. It was raining from what I could tell. So I nudged over just enough for basil to take a drink, she nodded a small thanks and opened up her mouth to drink from the water falling from the sky.
She moved over after a few minutes and that led to it being my turn, so I opened my mouth and let the rain pour into my mouth. It felt refreshing to be able to drink water. Normally it rained well we slept so it was a splendid treat to have the gift of water.
Once I felt as if I drank enough I moved my head, I normally lad just under the hole, but when it rained I moved so the drip drip drip of the rain wouldn't hit my head.
I closed my eyes, thinking of the small amounts of food that wondered into the cave, A fox here, a wild cow there, I longed for a fish or SOMETHING that wasn't a land mammal. The tastes were starting to blend together.
I felt a tingle and looked toward Basil, she and I both shared a wide eyed expression.
Basil looked at me, "do you feel what I feel Oak?" She said.
"The feeling of freedom?" I said in my deep voice.
Basil nodded.
"Let's send the Human a message then."
