My name is Lauren, I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm living off grid with my aunt Caisie. This new year we are going back to the city to join our new society. Planet earth was once filled with my people, humans. But in 2090 about 20 years ago they invented the "merkit chip." This chip is something they implanted in the humans threw their wrists and it controls their brain. They start to act "fake" they can't think or act like humans can, and their eyes turn so much of a light blue they look white. 60% of our earth is Merkits 30% is either half or quarter merkit and 10% is human. My aunt has already made contacts for our eyes to fit in and fool the bots, I'm kind of scared for this new way I'll have to live. I won't have to hunt, fish or plant my own food. I could go to stores and meet other people my age. And find out if all the stories I've heard of these bots are real..
