Chapter Two

Shadow, Bark, and their friends are now six moons old. "Shadow, Bark, Nyssa! I need to talk to you!" Silver called to them with a tange of heart brokenness. I'm atSilver lead them a corner at the back of the barn. It was dark and damp, it was also as silent as the night.
Silver jumped up onto a two legged thing. It's lazier than a badger with no bones! It must realy on the two legged to help them. Shadow thought looking at it. Silver frowned looking down at Shadow and Bark. Nyssa's ears perked up went she saw their mothers frown. I wonder if she thinks Bark and I are in trouble. But if we were why did Nyssa have to come? Shadow thought bitterly.
"Bark and Shadow… I am happy that I raised such beautiful kits until six moons old. But I promise someone I'd tell you the truth." Silver said, making Shadow's heart sink. What does she mean by 'the truth'? Shadow asked herself before she had the look of horror once she heard what Silver had to say.
      "I'm not you mother."
"But-" she was cut off by a hiss from Nyssa. "Why did I have to be 'nice and kind' to these mouse-brain, crow-eating maggots!"
You are one yourself, she thought.  Rage swelled in Silver and Nyssa seemed to realized what she said wasn't very good to say out loud. Silver took a deep breath and turn to Shadow and Bark. She must have a hard time keeping her anger in right now.
Bark and Shadow glanced at each other with uneasy and speechless. If she is not my mother who mine? Is Bark my brother, or was he abandoned like me? Was I abandoned? Shadow's head started to hurt with these questions in bedded in her mind.
"Well, I might not be your mother, but someone special is. Her name is Nightspark. She kind of looks like you, Shadow. She kitted you here, she said that she is ashamed of herself falling in love with a tom in Shadowclan. He was he leader and was evil. Bark looks like him a bit. But I am please he never had the heart of him." Silver said with a tear falling from her eye just like rain hitting the pelt. Her fur bristled.
