Cold air blew into the small bakery when the door was suddenly opened with more force than Draco wanted. It hit the side with a bang, the bell above it tinkering. He glanced around before noticing her. It wasn't hard to miss her uneven array of curly hair, disheveled as always.
Hermione was too engrossed with her book that she nearly tossed it at Draco's head when he came to sit down across from her. "Well good morning to you too". He smirked and ordered a coffee before glancing back at Hermione.
"Here, I want you to try something. But you have to close your eyes first."
Hermione dug around her bag, waiting patiently for Draco. He begrudgingly agreed and waited for her with his eyes closed.
"Open your mouth."
As he opened his mouth, she popped something in. It was sour at first, but quickly turned sweet. He continued sucking on the piece of candy while opening his eyes.
"What was that?"
"Oh you know... just a piece of sour patch kids."
They smiled at one another before returning to their breakfast that was finally served.
Draco enjoyed their mornings. It was the one thing he waited and looked forward to everyday.
