My freinds went on  about how  this ball is the most waited on because sometimes  this ball helps mates  find each other  when I heard mates  I began wondering  what it was   until I remembered  the time  when  I read  a supernatural  book and it said that mates were fated  by a goddess who creates these unbreakable  bonds.

My freind Nala and  that  during this ball  several  clans and tribes come together and   dance the night away when I asked about school my freinds laughed and told me that the three days  when the Keiflang  masquerade ball  goes on the classes are cancelled  and we take the next few weeks  to make up for the classes we would miss.

I liked the idea and started looking forward to the Keiflang masqeurade ball  my freinds told me that the dresses would be  real ballroom  dresses  and  sensual masks   and  there were rules for this ball when I asked them what the rules were  jenna  said

"Rule one -flirt with  everyone (girl and boy)

Rule two-never refuse  a dance proposal (girl and boy)

Rule three -dance with as many interested  suitor/matches (girl and boys)

Rule four-if your called to  talk to a suitor you must   answer there questions (boys and girls)

The last rule is to have fun and come out of the shell"

I kept the rules in mind  and asked  how many  ballroom  dresses were to be worn  nala answered and said three  dresses   and three family members  were to  choose  my dresses  when I asked nala who would need to choose  my dresses  she told me that myfather,my mother and my siblings would have to choose the dresses  I accepted  the  rules but worried what stepmother cynthia  would choose  for me   since she didn't  like me much even though she pretended in front of father.

More days went by lessons  were rushed and  both girls  and boys couldn't  stop talking about the upcoming  ball and how fantastic it would be  but in my case I wasn't  so happy because  of  the fact that I had no mother to choose  my ball dress and I didn't trust  cynthia  as the ball got closer I tried to forget about it  but one day  my freinds giggled  and dragged me to our dorm  and thats where I saw  three dress bags and three  boxes of jewellery  and three boxes of  heels  like actual ballroom heels.

I saw all the boxes had numbers on them  and I matched  all the items  without looking  with the  dress bases on the number written and then my freinds nudged me to  open the. Dress bags so I opened number one  and saw a beautiful  turquoise  dress with every blue gem that I had nether heard of neither seen and it was elegant  and had lace and net sleeves that just screamed  father protection and then i saw a note that confirmed that indeed  it was chosen by my four fathers.

I then opened   dress bag number 2 and saw a stunning  more  kind of off shoulder  sun golden red dress that had all sorts  of gems  and  and beautiful  embroidery  on it  it screamed  brothers with fashion  the dress was stunning  and it made me cry because it was the first gift my brothers had ever given me    my freind jenna smelled the dress and  said that it contained  a  witches magical signature and the dress would  cling to my curves I smiled knowing  that it was Freya's  doing.

The last  dress I opened  had my eyes watering and I could tell that it wasn't  given to me by Cynthia  but my own mum in that moment  I could feel her spirit  with me and  I turned around to see her  sitting  on my bed  I ran towards  the  bed wanting to hug her  but  I remembered  my  mother was a ghost  my freinds looked shocked and  mother waved at them  my freinds jumped back  and I chuckled  because grandmother had told me mother was mischievous.

My freinds pinched themselves and then nala was first to say

"Urrm  lil is  what I am seeing real because I see you sitting with  your deceased  mother and talking "

"Yes its true mothers spirit  still  lingers   around  for what reasons  I don't know but   shes with me and we talk"

"Shit  shit shit urm ma'am I mean your  momness will you haunt me  because I have made your daughter a  alcohol  lover because  I am sorry "

Mom laughed  at jenna  and jennas face relaxed  mother then told me that she had left grandmother  information  about retrieving  my dress from an old freinds  fashion  house to give to  me on the Keiflang masquerade ball  mother said that the boutique  owner was a seer so she  would know  when to give it   mom told me to check  the dress out and  I did it was silver with gold jewelled  embroidery  on it and the dress was more risqué  mother told me that with the dress was a fleece  that I could wear if one of my many  suitors  wanted to talk under the summer breeze.

I thanked mother who  smiled and said that the ball had another  reason  to have  many suitors  and it was a  type of  fight  that all the males chosen  would get into in order to win over  another interested suitor  of the girl they liked  mother told me it was a fight to the death  or until one submitted she also said women would also fight   if they had an eye on the same boy I told mother it was barbaric  but mother smiled and said it seemed barbaric  but  it wasn't.
