During the kids' break, I decided to stay in my classroom instead of going to the Teachers' Room, I just needed some time to think on what I had agreed to do just a couple hours ago. I sat in my chair with my elbows on my table, taking my glasses off and holding it loosely by its arm between the crook of my thumb while I used my index, middle and ring fingers of both hands to massage my temples.

- Hey kiddo, are you okay? - Jeremy said with his head between the door and the wall, he just called me that if I got him worried.

- Yeah. Get in and lock the door, I need to tell you what happened earlier. - He did as I said and pulled one of the kids' chair beside mine but facing me. Once he sat down, he rested his left hand on my shoulder letting me know he was there for me. - You know John's mother, right? - I said looking up for the first time.

- As in John Farro's? Of course I know, you have the biggest crush on her. - I gave him a glare because we both knew better than to talk about it under school's roof, it wasn't a real issue, but I did not want nor need any other teacher to know about it. - Sorry, anyways, keep going.

- Well, you know how I always stay by the door waiting for the kids to arrive. Today John was the first one to arrive, I asked him about his weekend, he told me how he had gone to this store with his mother, there was a Star Wars section on it, and since he knows I like Star Wars he invited me to go with them to that store on Saturday. Long story short, I agreed to go. - I said looking in his eyes desperately wishing they would give me some sort of answer for my nervousness.

- Dude you accepted it without taking her opinion in consideration? - He asked astounded.

- Jerry! Of course not. She kind of invited me as well after saying she would probably bore me out of my mind. - I took a deep breath before continuing. - Damn how I hate the pain in her eyes, and the way she talks about herself, you should have seen it, it's like she thinks she isn't worth anyone's time. It kills me, I was dying to just hold her in my arms and make her see how amazing she actually is and tell her she is worth my every second. - I said letting all my frustration out.

- Oh, wow. - Jeremy said in a whisper.

- What? - I asked a bit confused to why he was looking at me like I had grown a second head, with his lips ajar and his eyes jumping out of his face.

- I just didn't know you were that into her, I mean I knew you had a crush on her, but I always thought it was more of a platonic thing. I have never seen you caring so much about someone like that, not even your exes. - He said still a bit surprised. - And besides, I worry about you kiddo. She has a son so she is obviously into dicks, and well, that is just not your thing.

- I never really thought about it. - I said with hope leaving my body with each word.

- I'm sorry Hay, I didn't mean for it to put you down. - He said regret filling his voice. - But think on the bright side. We have never seen John's father and you saw his files, there was no father name on any of it.

- Yeah you are right, and besides, I'm going on Saturday for John, he was the one to invite me. - I said trying to convince myself that I wasn't freaking out about the fact I would be spending a few hours with her.

- Girl the bell just rang and you didn't even hear it. Get yourself back together 'cause the kids are about to get in. I have to go to my class but call me over if you need anything. - Jeremy said patting my shoulder and unlocking the door for my students.

After the kids had settled down, I got them to work on some simple exercises I had wrote down on the board and sat back down on my chair facing my students. They were being quiet today giving me the peace of mind I needed to think about what would happen in a few hours when Taylor came to gather John because I knew we would most likely discuss the plans for Saturday.
